Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a fantastic place. Lovely, friendly owner and staff. Magnificent bacon sandwich, proper coffee in a cafetière, and the best playlist in Christendom. If you’re in RHB, go there … simples

The second time we have stopped off here for lunch when visiting Robin Hoods Bay, and not disappointed. The food available at lunchtime is basic, but very tasty. We had Yorkshire Rarebit, Garlic Mushrooms on toast, and followed by some lovely scones. It's a small...and eclectic little place, and the service is excellent.More

Have visited on a number of occasions. However, on our last visit popped in to order a couple of take away sandwiches and coffee and was told we aren’t doing any take away food. I asked why not, as they always had done before but...the girl serving behind the counter didn’t know. A male person with hair a bit long for his years appeared and said in a gruff voice “we’re too busy and behind with our orders as it is.” No apology or suggestions for alternatives. His attitude was basically go away. Customers sitting at tables raised their eyebrows at his manner. Not good business to be rude to customers that will be around all year and not just holiday time. Shall give them a miss in the future.More

Really nice, food good. We had breakfast, quality of ingredients very good and bacon sandwich excellent. In all honesty I felt £10 for a full breakfast was quite dear as I didn’t consider it ‘full’ bacon, egg, mushrooms, beans and toast. I However, the service...was excellent and would definitely go againMore

Unreliable This is not a bad cafe that serves reasonable food and super coffee. Unfortunately it’s unreliable opening time let it down. Advertised as open till 4:00 pm it was shut just gone 2:00 pm. This is not for the first time either. It’s quite...frustrating when customers make the effort to visit to find it shut and the owner unwilling to bend even for just a coffee. Fortunately Robin Hoods Bay has quite a few alternatives, so this place really is a second choice.More

Yes very much so. A hive of walkers come and go and many with dogs so I suspect most places must be similar.
