We simply love The Punch Bowl and always visit when in The Dales. It was once a very typical Dales Pub, and I too wish perhaps that it still was, but times change and this pub is of the bistro style. That said, it still has a lovely relaxed feel and we have always found the staff very welcoming. On... More

Whilst staying at Swalebeck House (next to the Punch Bowl) we visited The Punch Bowl on a few occasions. Staff were relaxed, but professional. We were a table of 4 and all our meals were excellent. All the meat was tender and fish cooked perfectly. Would definitely recommend. I would consider this a better option than the CB Inn (sister... More

13 of us celebrated my daughter Emma's Hen-do on Friday evening with a lovely meal at the Punch Bowl. The staff, particularly Richard and Sue, were fantastic, and very accommodating. They kindly gave us a room to ourselves, which was a good move!, allowed us to "trim up", and at the end of the evening VERY KINDLY shuttled us back... More

We phoned them at ten o’clock in the morning. From experience we know it’s as well to let restaurants know of any dietary problems well in advance. We are trouble. My wife is intolerant to gluten, lactose, eggs, sunflower oil and carrots. We are both vegan. “Oh,” said the voice at the other end of the phone, “We can do... More

We were passing through on the way to Reeth and stopped on the off-chance there may be a table. Service was excellent and food was delicious. The lamb shank was melt in the mouth and so tender. Would highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding -yum! Staff were friendly and attentive and we felt valued as customers. A great anniversary meal.

Drawn here by its reputation - being linked with the local CB - at first we were disappointed by the limited lunch menu but when the food came we were so pleased. The vegetarian burgers were stuffed with veg, the beef burger was a double that floored our early-20's son, and the goats cheese tart was a revelation! Yes, it... More

Arrived in Low Row yesterday and called in for an early supper. We should have taken a cue from the barman's attitude and made tracks. Instead, we were treated like unwelcome guests, seated at the worst table in the house, and rushed though our meal. Based on what we observed, those staying in the pub's accommodation are treated differently. Shame... More

Went here for dinner last week as we were staying in Gunnerside. The pub itself was beautifully decorated and the food was delicious. The service was excellent. Highly recommended and even if you need to make a detour to get here, it's worth it.

Thank Freddie K
