We didn’t have a great start as we were stuck on a table facing a wall and in what was a busy thoroughfare. However, as people were finishing we asked to be moved which presented no problem to the polite and helpful staff. I must first mention Renee (apologies if spelt wrong) who was so keen to make sure we were comfortable and well looked after. Great service.
We both had the twice cooked cheese soufflé to start with, which had that wonderful cheesy taste with a light crunchy outside. Wonderful and light.
For mains, roast sirloin and all the trimmings, and chicken supreme for my wife. Now I make a mean roast dinner and I can honestly say that this was the best roast dinner I’ve had dining out. So tasty with lovely duck fat roast potatoes and perfectly cooked pink sirloin. If I had one minor criticism, the gravy was a bit too salty but I also appreciate how difficult it is to strike that balance between flavour and saltiness when using meat juice and/or meat glazes.
Ashamed to say we also had the sticky toffee pudding; a splendid end to what was a fantastic meal. Several real ales on sale so meets the need of a wide spectrum of people.
We live in the neighbouring village of Braunston so we will definitely return.

I had been reading a lot on Facebook about the pub and the quality of the food on offer. So when my partner suggested an impromptu Sunday lunch I suggested The White Horse. I called to check they would still be serving as time was getting on. I booked a table for 3.30pm. We arrived and were met by very friendly staff who got us drinks and showed us to our table. I had intended to try the new Trio of meats sharing board which had been publicised on Facebook, however it transpires that it had “blown up” and sold out in hours. Also, they were out of beef and Yorkshire puddings. Could have been disappointing but we are both realistic people and understand we had booked last minute and late in the day, the weather was also fantastic so a lot of folks were out and about. The waitress offered us steak in place of beef. When we had asked about the sharing board she asked the kitchen what they could do and they were able to offer some pork belly, which my partner had, I took the steak. We shared bread and olives to start, with some halloumi fries. My partner says they were the best she had ever had. Both dishes were delicious. The main courses were equally delicious. I particularly enjoyed the red cabbage and cauliflower, the pork was moist and sweet, the steak tender. We very much enjoyed our experience and will be back very soon, though we will plan better, book earlier and will give a review on the Trio of meats sharing board very soon. Looking forward to it already. Highly recommended.

After having a leaflet through the door we thought we would treat ourselves to a takeaway this evening. We weren't disappointed. The food was lovely and fresh and still warm enough to eat without reheating. Will def order again. Thankyou for fantastic service.

Having been both a manager and an Area manager for country Pub Companies for over 30 years until recently. I have however been accused by my family and friends of being overly critical of our meals out . Well not today . We visited the White Horse for Sunday Lunch . The food was extremely good and freshly prepared with good quality produce. The Sunday roast plater for two was outstanding with good portions for all the dishes . Don’t expect a large menu but what they do have on the menu is done extremely well . We were never made to feel rush as is often the case in Pubs on a Sunday Lunch The stand out points are the managers and team . The managers were actually working the shift on the bar/ tables and the Kitchen with their team . Not something you see a lot of in the managed pub chains anymore . This team showed a real sense of pride in their Pub and what a true Village pub should be to their community. We will be returning soon - We’ll Done and thank you

Called in here after a good walk for a well deserved pint and decided to order from the bar snack menu for lunch. A cosy atmosphere especially with the wood burner. The staff were friendly, welcoming and efficient and the food was amazing. We ordered the broccoli and cheese veloute with Guinness and treacle bread and chunky chips ( seriously the best chips I have ever tasted!) We felt the food was gourmet quality without the price. A lovely pub, the sort that you wish was your local. Highly recommended.

"Our Sunday lunch here was absolutely fantastic! Every dish was incredibly tasty, and everyone at our table agreed it was one of the one of the best Sunday lunches they had eaten. The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We will be coming back very soon.

Fabulous Sunday lunch, we had the pork belly- it was the best I’ve ever eaten !! Absolutely delicious. We then had a beautiful homemade
apple crumble and custard- I was literally fit to burst 😂😂 great atmosphere and of course a roaring fire. Great experience from Ellie and her team x

Ellie Ponder is the chef at the White Horse and the food is absolutely beautiful. The Sunday dinner is fab - never had pork crackling like it and the Yorkshire puddings are to die for. Everything from the meat to the veg to the dessert is cooked perfectly. The bar area is so cosy especially when the fires are lit and it’s fab they are so dog friendly.

Long weekend away here again with our two little shitzus.
The moment we walked into the pub we were made to feel welcome by the staff and the locals.
Hayley was absolutely wonderfully friendly the four days we were there.
On Sunday there was a tribute day to a guy who had recently passed away, it looked like the whole village turned out, an absolute credit to the people that live here.
The staff worked their socks off that day.
I was humbled to have a few pints and listen to the band and speak to a few the locals.
Thank you so much to Hayley and the staff and the people of Welton.

We visited the White Horse to eat, having spoken to other friends that had eaten there recently.
The whole experience was brilliant from the time we arrived. The staff were attentive, informative, and importantly, smiling all the time...it makes the evening.
The food was high-end pub food with a twist. It was all tasty and portioned well.
I would recommend the cheese souffle and fish and chips. However, all the meals eaten by my friends received the thumbs up.
Overall, it was great food, which was worth every penny, and that's what matters in my book

We had dinner there last night! We did not expect how lovely the food was, chips to die for… the staff was friendly and knew what they were talking about.
The atmosphere was nice and even that it was busy we didn’t have to wait long to have drinks, staff was on point checking if everything was ok and always ready to have a nice chat.
Definitely will be back, would recommend the white horse 100%

Visited tonight as Danny Tompkins who's an excellent chief was having an opening night.
The food was so good.
I had the rib eye steak it was cooked to perfection.
The place had a lovely vibe.

Absolutely delicious meal by Danny Tompkins Chef on Mothers day! The Sunday lunch was yummy, the beef was incredible!! Couldn’t fault a thing, the service was great and the pub it’s self was lovely and quaint! Can’t wait to come back!!

Very nice visit to The White Horse for a Danny Tompkins meal. Not cheap but clearly people are happy to pay for quality as it was busy. Really nice if limited menu, chips to die for! Great to have this sort of quality on our doorstep.

Lovely old country Inn in a peaceful location but with great friendly community atmosphere. High quality meal beautifully presented and definitely restaurant standard. Enjoyed a lovely cocktail before the meal. Lovely staff and a lovely evening
