Visited with family and we were really underwhelmed. Elderly relatives found it hard to climb the many stairs up to the restaurant and had to go downstairs again to use the toilets. Service was poor and the staff were in jeans. The quality of the food was poor and it was only tepid. The presentation seemed to be more imortant... More

We ate here on our first night. We weren't disappointed the food is home cooked and was delicious. The staff are attentive and The Plough is a lovely pub and I would go back again and recommend stopping either for a bite to eat or just for a quiet drink.

We only went in for the drinks due to the weather was cold and it was average, the place was nice and look nice outside.

Really enjoyable dinner, traditional food with a modern update, attention to detail, full of flavour and presents by friendly staff in a comfortable setting. Large portions!

The plough has lovely decor and is very comfy, but the food lets it down. While some of it is well done, it misses the important details that make for a good experience. You could allow/forgive if it were cheaper but it is not a budget menu. We ordered 2 adult mains and a child's meal. My mussels were ok... More

We booked online with Opentable only to be told that although they do take online bookings this did not apply at lunchtime and that it was on a first come first served basis. Luckily they had a table available otherwise I would not have been best pleased especially having travelled from Durham, unluckily they expected us to sit at a coffee... More

Haven't eaten here so can't review the food but visited the other night with 2 friends. I was first to arrive. Asked for large glass of house red and was offered Merlot and Shiraz, I opted for the Merlot. I was charged £8.50 which I think is extremely steep for a house red! My friend then arrived and asked for... More
