Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A great returning pub/restaurant. We visit every year and are never disappointed with the food and service. Daniela was a delight.

Positives. The staff are lovely. Negatives, our steaks weren’t cooked the way we requested and it was fairly cold in the restaurant. I just wanted to eat and get out. I gave my steak to my husband. Mushrooms good. Chips excellent. Would we return? No.

Wholly unimpressive. Food was poor. Steak pie was overcooked, dry filling, soggy pastry. Monkfish in Cassoulet was laughable. More to cassoulet than mixing tins of tomato and beans together - just raw. Staff nice but uninformed and don’t supported. No apparent management control. Loads of...punters / pals in and out of the kitchen - always a sign that paying customers are secondary.More

Working weekend away, working in Beadnell and Seahouses… took my wife and our dogs and spent a full weekend staying at the Craster Arms… what can we say, friendly atmosphere, welcoming staff, who all went above and beyond to make our stay memorable… food…fresh, tasty...with a wide variety of choice… totally recommend and we will definitely be returning… we have two young mini schnauzers one can be yappy but staff, locals and visitors all made us feel welcomeMore

Poor. We came here last summer while we were staying at Beadnell Towers and it was fabulous. Great, home cooked food. Now - just poor. Vegetables that looked liked they’d been kept boiling all day and the famous Turnbull’s pie that was dry and hard....Won’t be back again. Such a shame.More

We went here for steak night (which is a Thursday) whilst staying in beadnell. The pub caught our eyes as it was a dog friendly venue. we booked earlier in the day via the booking portal on the website, and we got a quick response...confirming our booking. Upon entering we were taking to a well presented wing of the pub which looked like it was where they seated people with there furry companions in tow. Both this section of the venue and the other area were very well presented, and i got the impressing this establishment was at the higher end of the gastro pub market. We went for the 2 for £28 steak and a bottle of wine meal for two whilst my son had the children's cheeseburger. Service was friendly and attentive, although the turn around time for the meal to be served was a little longer than i was hoping for, however i should note that the venue was bust with others making the most of the steak night offer. When the food arrived it was very well presented and the portions were big. However, sadly from this point things degraded somewhat. My steak was very sinewy and considering had asked for medium, i felt that it was much ore towards the "blue" end of the spectrum. Chips were OK, salad middling, however i will say the mushrooms that were served were very tasty. I think sadly for the venue, the atmosphere, the presentation of the building and the service meant that i am probably less forgiving of the food itself being a let-down. Clearly a popular venue, and i hope i just attended on a bad night food wise, but i can only give 3 out of 5 on this occasion due to the poor standard of product served.More

Lovely Sunday lunch and it was good to have other choices available, particularly for children. A bit overpriced for what we got, e.g. just two roast potatoes, no mashed potatoes and no green veg with the roast dinners. The fish finger sandwich was a hit.

Classic pub food really well done. HUGE fish and chips! Friendly, efficient table service. The place was buzzing and we had a lovely evening. I would definitely recommend and we'll come back next time we are in the area.

As a group of 4 , 3 of us had the same meal pan seared liver, 1 was supposed pink the other two medium all 3 were over cooked, two of us had a good amount of sauce 1 had very little and we asked...for more sauce, we were given a completely different sauce which we didn’t notice until it was poured all over the meal ruining the complete meal, we told the waitress and she just smiled, looked uncomfortable and the asked if we wanted dessert or coffee. We thought she would tell the manager on duty , we waited but no one came to our table, we decided to just pay and leave so as to diffuse the situation, the last thing we wanted was to start complaining in the restaurant as we were on holiday. We left and went over the road to the Beadnell towers hotel to have a bottle of wine, where the service and wine was excellent. Having posted the following morning a review the owner Wayne responded asking us to contact him personally to resolve the situation, we emailed twice with no response so it was clearly just to look like he was doing the right thing. More disappointment , we would definitely not recommend this restaurant.More

Not as far as I’m aware. It’s too far out for deliveroo or just eat and they look too busy with physical customers. It could change as the season ends though

It didn’t work for me either. They gave me another link when I booked with them which did. They use something called UPMENU for ordering online when you arrive and a mixture of manual ordering. It all seemed a bit confused... More
