Found this lovely little cafe after a walk along the Riverside. It's small and there was no one in when we arrived but it soon filled up and is obviously a popular place. There is a very extensive menu but we are both dieting so resisted all the cakes and decided on poached eggs on toast and the homemade lentil... More

Stopped here for a coffee and teacake whilst visiting Morpeth. Interesting photos of old Morpeth on walls and original range in one corner. Staff were friendly and service was excellent. Lovely garden courtyard out the back - I didn't use it as it was cold on day I visited but it would be lovely in the summer. I will certainly... More

Extensive lunch menu all reasonably priced. Homely cooking but nicely done. Had ham and lentil soup with bread. Large bowl with fresh bread and butter. Delicious. Will revisit.

Stopped here for a late lunch while shopping in Morpeth with my mum. I had mushroom soup and roll with chicken mayo. Mum had lentil soup and a prawn sandwich. Simple food but all were delicious, particularly the mushroom soup which was perfect. We then couldn't resist the cakes. Spoilt for choice, we went for coffee walnut, which was also... More

Hi and it's great to hear our homemade soup went down well. There are many many places in Morpeth to grab a bite but we're chuffed you wandered our way, down Oldgate. Have a great Halloween and see you again. More

Nice and homely, lots of boards with food ideas, good selection of cakes. We arrived almost at closing time and did feel awkward as they were clearing up around us, but when I mentioned it I was assured we could stop as long as we liked. A nice place, and we would go again when we had more time if... More

Although we did not eat here based on what we saw we would recommend it to anyone. The drinks we had were very nice and the service of them added to the pleasure. Everything about this place is quirky, from the owner down to the fittings and furniture. It retains old world charm with a touch of the Mad Hatters... More
