Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a delightful cafe that I found by accident. The menu was fantastic lots of variety. Me and my husband had the most wonderful lunch the food and presentation was fabulous. If I lived closer I would eat here all the time. All tables were...full and people were queuing at the door. I will 100% return here when we next visit Morpeth can not recommend enough. Thanks for the wonderful lunch oh and the homemade coleslaw was divine!!!More

After researching on Trip Advisor we decided today, whilst travelling to the Northumberland coast via Morpeth, to eat at The Chantry Tea Room. We are so pleased we did. My husband chose the soup and I Welsh rarebit both of which we really enjoyed. As...we had ordered a pot of tea for two, we were pleased to be offered extra hot water without asking. As we were sharing a scone (full from the soup and rarebit) the extra tea was very welcome. The staff were welcoming and very pleasant and the tea room really nicely presented. We shall definitely visit here next time we are in Morpeth.More

I went on a 2 hour walk and decided to stop and rest at the tea rooms. It was very busy but it didn't feel chaotic. I ordered my lunch and went and sat outside in the garden which has beautiful flowers all around. My...lunch was lovely and I was sat eating, there were quite a few birds that came up very close and were very tame which gave the tea rooms a unique feel. Overall a very lovely place to visit.More

Morpeth's hidden gem. After a long absence, we returned to the Chantry tea rooms, and were greeted on entry - long distance, with a nod and acknowledgement, the way real customers should be looked after. And even after a long time away, our idiosyncratic requests...were already anticipated, and the brief craic was enough to make us feel thoroughly welcome and at home. Considering that the place filled up almost as soon as we were seated, you may feel the need to go early and go often else you may not find a seat left in the place. Raspberry and white chocolate scone! - who thinks these things up? But so what, the best scone in weeks.More

What a wonderful place. Quaint and very welcoming. The cakes are obviously home made with oodles of love and taste utterly delicious. The decor inside is simple but homely and exudes a country atmosphere. The staff are wonderful, especially the owner who helped us out...massively to make sure we made it to our train home on time. Thank you xxMore

In a word - superb. The scones and cakes are fabulously inventive and so tasty. They remind me of the ones my Gran used to bake - and that is praise indeed. Can't recommend it highly enough. In fact, we go back to it every...chance we get !More

A lovely traditional tea room. They prefer if you pay in cash but you can use a card. Staff are friendly, particularly scrumptious scones!

I was walking through Morpeth on a morning walk and stumbled across this cute little tearoom yesterday. friday the 24th March. So me and my husband thought we would give the place a try. And I can happily say we will both be back. We...were greeted at the door by the most wonderful young waitress, She was quite chatty, and very friendly and helped us discover the menu and all it has to offer. And had the most contagious smile as she served us, Didn’t catch the lovely young woman’s name, but I would like to give thanks to her especially, she had really cool tattoos that my husband found amusing to look at lol, We ordered some breakfast scones, and they were the most tasty scones I’ve had since my grandma used to make them. 100% would recommend this tearoom. Overall amazing customer service, served with a smile, great tasting food and not bad price for what we got. Definitely will be returning, Thankyou chantry tea room for a lovely morning.More

Lived in this town for years, but never visited this tea room (lots of choice in Morpeth) and a spur of the moment late afternoon visit was not disappointing. As it was not long before closing, I opted for an Americano and milk ( would...have liked a bigger cup) and a cheese and herb scone, which arrived warmed, as suggested, and butter. I think the measure of a good scone is the lightness, and taste (cheesy of course!) and this one was so delicious. So different to many of the Morpeth offerings and 100% better than those 'cheese scones' which taste of no cheese in the mixture, with only a smattering of cheese on the top. Congratulations to The Chantry - my visit was long overdue, but I'll return.More
