Disappointed to give this poor review but we didn’t enjoy our experience here. My husband, who is a real ale drinker and knows the difference between a bad pint and a bad choice, returned a full pint to the bar as undrinkable and they refused...to swap it. We were in a weekend away for a special anniversary so he didn’t make a fuss but it’s not the response you’d expect from a good pub. I also wonder if regulars, rather than passing tourists, would have had the same treatment.More

At my latest stay 3 friends booked the Bungalow within the grounds of the Hotel. The rooms had two bedrooms one double a twin. The bonus was the bungalow also had a large lounge which overlooked the harbour perfect for our get together. Breakfast never...disappoints with locally sourced produce would recommend in a heart beat. Hope to see you soon !More

We really enjoyed our one night stay here, our room no 2 was so lovely I wished we could have stayed longer. Cozy, large with a four poster bed and a feature bay window looking out to the harbour. Was just wonderful sitting with a...drink in hand watching the sun go down. We dined in and our evening meal was very good, excellent quality and a large portion. Not a lot of choice but not sure if the menu varies depending on what day you visit. Our breakfast was excellent and a great choice. The bar was gorgeous, full of character with a fire and the hubby found a local ale on tap which he really enjoyed. Now, what makes this place memorable also is all the staff from the receptionist, bar maids and waitresses, all so friendly. One lovely lass who looked after us at dinner had worked here since 1985 and she was a joy. Would love to return 😊More

The Sunday dinners that we had were excellent! I had beef and my wife had lamb and both were top quality cuts. Served with veg and homemade Yorkshire puddings. We couldn't fault it. This was served by a very pleasant lady who was very attentive...and made us welcome. Would definitely recommend and return.More

An ok pub if you love lots of brass & sailing related decorations. Not great for food & not cheap either. It does have nice corner view to harbour & cosy fire.

We called in for drinks and food midweek and really enjoyed it. The bar is steeped in history with lots of authentic maritime memorabilia. We sat next to a roaring fire and took in the ambience. It's a cosy bar with a lovely atmosphere. The...cider was good and my posh fish finger sandwich was delicious. There were 3 large pieces of fish in a very tasty batter. Served with skin on fries, coleslaw and tartare sauce on a good sized plate. At £12 I thought it was good value and the fish was the best I've had in a long time. The bar staff were really pleasant and were kept busy. The area we were in was smallish and no children or dogs were allowed, but there were other rooms which were dog and children friendly.More

Food was dreadful. Chowder nice but not worth £18. Chicken and mushroom pie had one slice of mushroom, and the ‘proper gravy,’ as quoted on the menu, was definitely only Bisto gravy granules. Landlady disagreed! Would not eat there again.

It is very clean, very professional people. However, I sta yed for two nights room 7 was very noisy so if you like to have a lie down during the day your wasting your time however, when the bar gets less, people in. The noise...reduces so you will be able to sleep very well on the night. The breakfast was excellent. I did complain about the noise however there was no rooms left. So we were a bit stuck but it is very clean and very good meals. the noise did spoil the holidayMore

Been visiting for 20 odd years, popped in for a pre meal pint. Things not quite as good as they used to be. Short on glasses and staff looking a bit stressed. Grumpily told Neck Oil no longer being served. Please can we have back....Looks like it could be a long hard summer for the staff, shame because was always one of the strengths.More

Came in seated straightaway as we had booked. Drinks order took and drinks delivered immediately, Didn’t bother with starters and both ordered Sunday dinner the other half ordered beef which had 2 large slices of beef while I ordered the Lamb which was just small...flakes if anything. I wanted to complain but other half wasn’t happy about that. For £17 there should have at least been a couple of slices. What made it worse was I fancied fish and chips and the next table had that and looked a great portion. Also shared a cheeseboard at the end which also wasn’t worth the £10 price tag. My wife and I were both looking forward to eating here and both left disappointed.More

We booked a table, got there and had to wait as no one was there to show us to the table ! Was there about 15mins, when we did the waitress was lovely but explained that understaffed and a table if 10 had turned up...but no one could find their booking ! We ordered a pie and a pasta dish. The pie was tiny and hard so not very nice. The chicken in the pasta was lovely but the pasta was full of oil and not very nice.More

Lovely bar but fire not stoked up and doors open so quite cold. No gin glasses!!!. Gin served in small tumbler. No room for mixer let alone enough ice. Disappointing in 2024 .

Sounds pretty steep although, to be fair I don't remember the beer being unusually pricey. Incidentally, as you're not asking a question, your observations would be more effective in a review.
