Visited Wooler for my partners birthday and visited all 3 of the pubs in the village, can honestly say the Anchor charged the lowest prices for their beer & spirits ( Draught beer, Gin & Vodka with mixers) were a lot cheaper per round.
Where to start about this place amazing in every way, great bar range and decent prices. The Sunday lunch was the best EVER !!!! All fresh made local produce and pictures on Facebook don't do it justice a must have for Sunday lunch
Six of us booked for lunch today.
The initial impression was negative, with cigarette ends covering the pavement outside the front door.
The vegetables were plentiful and well-cooked. Unfortunately they sat on the table for too long before the meat was delivered.

We visit here regularly now after eating once as we found it to be very nice indeed. Sunday lunch is a must as it is very well cooked and very tasty, the staff are very friendly too which makes for a pleasant visit.
Stopped in Wooler and spent a couple of hours in the Anchor. Dog friendly so our pooch was welcome. Nice friendly staff with a good selection of drinks. Didn’t eat here as there was a bingo night so had a restricted menu. Can recommend!
Three lads on our way to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, shored up at the nearby Shepherd's Huts YHA, and an evening of pints and frivolity downtown at the Anchor Inn. Well, walking in one could have heard a pin drop as all locals stopped,...More
Staying at a nearby holiday park we had just been along to Bamborough Castle and decided to head somewhere for Sunday lunch. On checking trip advisor we came across this gem and can honestly say the reviews don't do it justice.

We were only visiting the area for the weekend and really wanted a Sunday lunch. Found this lovely little pub who did us a great Sunday dinner and the staff were great with my 2 year old.
Good gin and beer selection behind the bar.
