About
This historic village inn has been tastefully decorated and updated to create a beautiful country pub with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Warm and cosy with a central real log fire it is the place to go for business lunches, meeting up with friends or if you are alone a great place for making new friends. A lovely rear beer garden is a real sun trap. There is a decking area with benches and a grassed area which is great for the kids, And as it is fully enclosed you can easily keep an eye on them. To the front of the Inn you have the option of benches outside the entrance or relax on the village green where there are also benches. Either way it's a great spot to have a meal or a drink and

Lovely impromptu lunch stop on way back from York. Minutes from A1. Absolutely delicious Mushroom Stroganoff for me & my husband thoroughly enjoyed his duo of sausages with individual gravy boat. Sitting by the roaring fire, it felt timeless. Well worth a visit.

Hi unfortunately we don’t allow dogs inside the pub mainly due to us serving food although we do have lots of seating both to the rear and front of the pub. We are more than happy to provide water for your dog if needed 😊
