We have eaten in this pub twice during visits to Oxford and the food is fantastic and excellent value. The fish and chips is cooked to perfection and the deserts were also delicious - sticky toffee pudding, Eton mess and chocolate brownies. We were welcomed as if we were locals and there is also an excellent selection of beers on... More

When visiting my Aunt in Clifton Hampden, we decided on The Plough in Long Wittenham for Saturday lunch. There were four of us and we found a table near the window and settled down. The fire was revived and we were very soon feeling cosy. It is a local pub so i was expecting the normal bar food, but how... More

I occasionally pop in the The Plough for a pint and Sandwich at lunchtime and they are a lovely pub, with lovely people, good value food. :) The generous portions would mean I can not do this very often!

A group of four or five us have lunch at the Plough most months. The food is invariably excellent, the service is always friendly and efficient and the prices very fair. A step above many other eating pubs in the area.

Second visit to this pub and they were apologising for only having pub grub on a Monday lunch time. However, it was not run of the mill pub grub, as the excellent pie (chicken and ham today) was a proper pie, the vegetarian risotto was good restaurant quality fayre and the fish and chips was excellent too. The desserts were... More

A fantastic find, good beer, wonderful food (do not expect run of the mill pub grub). The locals were friendly and in some cases very local especially "Black Dog" in the corner, a fun Sunday afternoon with open fires.

With two hours to kill last Sunday. I ventured across to The Plough some times I do make the right decision. Entering the traditional pub I found a warm welcome and spied a loan table .They have focused on nostalgia with the menu with all the favourites. I chose slow cooked belly pork "Delicious " cooked to perfection and presented... More

All the meat dishes looked lovely, the staff are very friendly and the garden is wonderful. Just a shame that this is one of those pubs that makes you feel a second class customer for being Veggie. Only one choice and unfortunately we couldn't finish it, especially after noticing the liberal amount of manure in with the mushroom risotto.

Wonderful old pub in an historic building. Food was quite good, though it was hard to find something gluten free. Service was prompt and friendly.
