Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A really friendly pub, great staff and an interesting menu. The service was great with the staff being very informative and helpful. All of us enjoyed our meals, our vegetarian friend really liked her pumpkin risotto and I was impressed by the fresh horseradish The...added bonus sauce (and I grow my own horseradish!) which accompanied the very tasty slow cooked shin beef. The added bonus was the pub was directly opposite to where we were staying.More

We were staying in Witney for one night and I liked the reviews for this Pub online. I had booked a table for my wife, myself and my 89 year old Mum on the Thursday evening and we were not let down. Very friendly staff...from the start to finish with service and superb food. I would heavily recommend their pies and the banana fritters. Very popular pub too but deservedly so.More

A group of us had a wonderful evening at this lovely Pub. We felt so welcomed, the food from a very good menu was beautifully cooked, and the service was great. I couldn't fault it and can highly recommend it!

What a great place! Friendly staff, attentive service, lovely food with extensive menu. We were a larger party and arrived a little early for our table, but no probem, we sat in the rear courtyard until it was ready. A great atmosphere, busy place and...no wonder with the food being very good. Fully recommend this place.More

Walked past this place and very much got the wrong impression from the exterior. The Beavertown banners and parasols outside don’t do the place justice, we went in just for a drink (Beavertown actually so the ads worked!) and stayed to eat. Very impressed with...the service and the food. Would definitely recommend!More

This is an excellent place to eat out. The food was excellent, the staff courteous and professional and the drinks reasonably priced. Very good atmosphere as the place was busy. Will definitely be returning.

We booked a very late table, so were not expecting much. What we did get was a very nice surprise. The service was friendly, and we did not feel rushed even though we were seated at 21:20 (our choice). The food (I had a home...made pie) was freshly cooked, the vegetables again fresh, not some that had been hanging about for ages. I would certainly eat here again, and this time allowing more time. The ambience is warm and inviting, and I found the art work very agreeable.More

Exceptional front of house in the dining area. I ordered the grilled salmon with new jersey royals and pickled cucumber salad. Simple but stunning! Thanks go out to the dark haired young woman waiting the tables and whoever cooked my dinner! Great work guys. Also...big thank you for the lady at the bar who broke my £10 into two £5s when I wanted to give the staff a tip.More

This is the 2nd time we’ve eaten here since the new owners took over and we weren’t disappointed. Excellent food and service and a good selection of drinks. The staff were helpful and knowledgable about the menu. Ham hock, butter bean and cider pie, aubergine...fritters, chips, Barnsley chop with roasted veg, salmon chips and asparagus all cooked and presented well. The Barnsley chop in my opinion needed some kind of potatoes mash or new on the plate, but there was a side option of buttered jersey royals which I should’ve ordered.More

What an excellent meal, and congratulations to the team at The Three Horseshoes, who clearly know what they are doing! We decided to go on the strength of previous good reviews, which proved to be justified. We can recommend the salmon (tasty fish, delicious perfectly...cooked new potatoes, lovely dressing on the salad, very tasty sauce) and the pie (on this occasion minced beef and Stilton). My husband also really enjoyed his pud (dark choc and hazelnut delice). I asked whether they could do an Irish coffee and although it wasn’t on the menu they produced an excellent one. The place is delightful and the service was just right - attentive without being overwhelming. We are in Witney for a few days and intended to try a few different places, but on the strength of this evening’s meal we have booked again for Friday. Well done to all concerned!More

6 of us had an excellent meal at The Three Horseshoes. I had a very tasty Chicken, Chorizo & Olive Pie. Others had the Asparagus, Feta, Rocket & Chimiccurri Risotto & were not disappointed. Service was friendly & Real Ale at £4.00 a pint. A...lot to recommend.More
