Food fabulous, fresh, quality ingredients, good portions, beautiful presentation. Restaurant was welcoming, full of laughter, great atmosphere and well worth every penny. Our server I think her name was Chantelle was excellent, couldn’t do enough to help, she went above and beyond to make our...visit enjoyable and her recommendations were spot on. Well done to the team we had a fabulous meal and will be bringing the whole family for my birthday in July.More

I wanted to commend Il Gusto for being willing to deliver for a party of 13 to the Cotswold Manor Estate in Bampton over the Jubilee weekend – they were very helpful when I rang to make arrangements in advance and the food arrived piping...hot and absolutely on time. Particularly appreciated as we were struggling to find a takeaway establishment that would deliver to this location, despite being so close to Witney. Would strongly recommend the takeaway facility for choice, quality of food, punctuality, & excellent service.More

Terrible food. Usually we find Italian meals are very reliable tasty and good value but not here. After an expensive plate of stale bread and small expensive pot of plain olives ,my Pasta meal had one finally chopped asparagus spear, 2 cherry tomatoes, 0ne small...chopped mushroom and a few small cubes of hard dry chicken. The seafood risotto, 1 prawn, 4 mussels and a handful of clams. Very disappointedMore

Odd evening in Il Gusto My wife ordered a bruschetta as a starter - specifically asking for tomato with mozzarella - when arrived was 3 pieces of toasted baguette with tomato and the smallest speck of mozzarella cheese I have ever seen. We asked the...waiter to check as we had assumed that it was the basic version (sans cheese). he returned from the kitchen to say just “Chef says this is how it is served”…. It was accepted and was really nothing special seemingly missing some of the ingredients from the menu - peppers and black olives (plus rest of the mozzarella) Main course was served and again my wife found the Pasta Arribbiata disappointing - little flavour other than vast quantities of chilli flakes We have been here before and found both the food and customer service very good. However, it would appear that this has slipped a lot since we last visited Shame - unlikely to return after tonightMore

Went here last night was really busy had a big table of about 20 people in but still managed to fit us in. The waiters looked rushed off there seats but still were accommodating. I ordered a steak and asked for it well done. When...it came was still pink. I’m pregnant and don’t want to risk eating undercooked meat. The chef was so understanding he said his wife was pregnant too and said he’d cook me a fresh steak. In which he did. The service for that was amazing.. even gave us a pudding to take home. Thank you for your kindnessMore

We visited here with a group of 20 on my daughters hen night. We booked a little later than all other costumers there which was an advantage for us because after all other customers had left the amazing waiters cleared some tables and created a...mini dance floor for us and turned up the music. We had so much fun and they were so accommodating. At one point we asked if they minded our dancing, singing etc and they said "no, you are a nice unexpected surprise" which was lovely. The food was fabulous and very reasonably priced. They also gave us a hefty discount on the entire bill which was hugely appreciated. I would recommend this gem of a restaurant to anyone.More

We ate here a few weeks ago now and enjoyed a great family meal. Generous portion sizes and very lovely fresh ingredients. The pizzas were particularly good. Service was very welcoming and friendly. Thank you Il Gusto for a wonderful evening.

This could be so much better. The food was lovely and very generous. They were short staffed (speaking to a local later, this does seem to be regular problem). It took ages to get the drinks order in. The food was pre-ordered and when it...did come it was great. The bill, we were a group of 13!!), also took ages. We did get extra complementary drinks while the bill was being sorted. We were there 3 hours and only had 2 courses. The food deserves a much better rating, and it's such a shame to mark the restaurant down.More

Given the number of 5 star reviews on Tripadvisor, I was expecting something special from Il Gusto, but left disappointed. The service was friendly,no complaints there at all, but the food left much to be desired. My starter of mussels was fine, but accompanied by...two miserable little slices of cheap, poor quality bread. I followed this with a prawn risotto which, apart from the excellent prawns, was absolutely tasteless and badly cooked, finished with parsley which tasted stale and had too many bits of stem attached. My companions had pizza, which was ok, but not exactly memorable, and pasta with prawns and pesto. Once again, the prawns were very nice, but the pasta was over cooked and swimming in pesto sauce which overpowered the whole dish. As for drinks prices, we’ll, I’ll leave that to others to judge, but £8 for a 250ml. glass of very ordinary chardonnay ? I won’t be back anytime soonMore

I visited with my family on a Friday evening to celebrate my daughters 17th birthday. We waited at least 20 minutes to get a drinks order taken and only saw two member of staff all evening. We had a lovely starter but our mains didn’t...arrive until 8:55 (we booked our table for 7:30) we skipped dessert as we were all feeling a bit jaded by the time we had eaten our main courses. The food was lovely when it came and the waitress apologised for the delay in our meal explaining that they were two members of staff down. We did enjoy our meal but it wasn’t the experience we have had previously and I was left a little disappointed as it was a birthday treat.More
