Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

One night stay with my partner this time for my consultation with the Orthopedic Surgeon 6 weeks later after my surgery. Room 2 this time with a twin and single bed. Again the facilities were excellent, food still good, service and staff 5 star. Breakfasts...again ideal to set you up for the day.More

Really friendly team and good homemade food. Great Fish and Chips evening on a Friday, freshly cooked and great value for money.

We frequent the boote quite often and as a norm the standard of food is very good however Sunday lunch on this particular day was extremely poor and we were very disappointed especially considering cost of the lunch

We recently held a wake at Ye Olde Boote Inn after my Dad's funeral, everything exceeded our expectations; from our initial chat with James to discuss our requirements to the day itself, the warm welcome, attractive and plentiful buffet of fresh food, tea and coffee...and attentive staff we felt at ease throughout and it was excellent value for money. James and Penny are fun, friendly and professional, as are their team, ensuring our function went smoothly. We also stayed for an evening meal, along with my brother and sister in law but after our afternoon buffet we could only manage a main course each! The lamb shank and fish and chips were particularly good, we enjoyed a selection of wines, beers and spirits, service was charming and although it was a busy night our food arrived in good time. We then stayed overnight in a very comfortable twin room overlooking the village church, the neutral decor was fresh and calming, bedding and towels good quality, the room and large en suite were pristine and despite the proximity to a main road it was quiet due to the efficient secondary glazing. Our full breakfasts next morning were all superb, the lady serving (not sure of her name) was again fun, friendly and professional.More

We were a family from 70s-6 year olds. Pre booked our table (recommended). Had a lovely Sunday lunch with kids options and choice of meats and veggie options available. Lovely roasties and yorkshires with plenty of sides. Most of us too stuffed for pud but...the two tasted (sticky toffee and apple pie) were a big hit with the little ones. Service was very good and all round we thought it was good value and a lovely afternoon. Perfectly placed for a little walk afterwards too.More

We found this place by chance after deciding to stop overnight in the area on our way back home from North Wales. We booked around 15 mins before arriving, yet the lady who greeted us was lovely, nothing was too much trouble. The room we...were allocated was just gorgeous. Scrupulously clean and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was very good and the service was super friendly. I'd highly recommend this cute pub/b&b if you're ever in the area and need a place to stay! Thank you to all involvedMore

Our first date many many years ago was a meal here and it was magical. By chance we were passing at about6.30pm, we hadn’t eaten so pulled in, I was excited that we had come across ye old boot again, sign on the door said...they were fully booked. To our dismay we started to go back to the car but the Landlord who was outside saw how disappointed we were and went to check if we could be accommodated. Success and he showed us to the best table in the house! The meal was superb, with a deal for a complimentary bottle of wine was a great bonus. The deserts were scrumptious too. The Landlady behind the bar was lovely and the waitress’s were very attentive too. Overall a lovely spontaneous dining experience . We will certainly return again in the future, but will remember to book a table first as it is a very popular place.More

The best place we've stayed by far. Spotless clean. Beds and pillows perfect. Staff was exceptional, nothing was to much no matter what we asked for. Breakfasts was beautiful & plenty of it too. The view and location is a massive added bonus to the...wonderful place. The management greeted us soon as we arrived and asked our names shown us around which instantly makes you feel special. They had live music in too so we orders bar food with a bottle of red and relaxed. The locals was also very welcoming. They smiled and said hello. We really can't wait to re visit againMore

Have eaten here many times and always consistently good food, but, sadly, our meals tonight were very poor. Below average fish, undercooked chips, bland tasting veggie lasagne, and cheese and onion pie was tasteless. Has the place changed hands recently? We left very disappointed, such a...shame it’s gone downhill, it’s such an attractive pub!More

A very nice old style pub with several rooms from the moment we got there till leaving the staff were all very friendly and helpfull. The bar/restaurant is very quaint , some good real ales on , all at decent prices . A good food...menu , we had the cheese and onion pie ,, homemade and very tasty . Our room was a good size , spotlessly clean and over looked the castle and old moat over the road from the inn . Bed was a good size and very comfy . The only thing missing was a bar of soap or gel . Not a big issue really but just surprised by it . Breakfast was really nice , cereal starter , then full English ,and toast , all very nicely cooked to order . Overall I’d recommend this inn , one of the nicer ones we’ve stopped atMore

We had booked a double room for 3 nights, when we arrived we were told sorry we have mistakenly given your room to someone else, we were offered a twin room, which as we were staying 3 nights to celebrate Valentine’s Day wasn’t acceptable, after...a 2 two hour drive we had to either go home or find accommodation elsewhere,More

Went to the boote last night (4th December) I was very disappointed in the food tbh the starter I had prawn cocktail which was completely tasteless no flavour at all using cheap poor quality flavourless frozen prawns. My main was chicken and unfortunately was a...bit pink in the middle so had to leave it due to fear of salmonella poisoning. My dessert was chocolate fudge cake and vanilla ice cream, the fudge cake was very nice but the ice cream was of very poor quality and again tasteless. I did complain about each course but obviously fell on deaf ears, when we paid the bill I asked if my complaints had been relayed to the manager I was told ‘’ No as the management were eating at the time’’ So because of this experience and the poor quality of some of the food and not getting any response from the management I probably won’t be going back again or recommending it to anyone, it was a very disappointing experience.More
