Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I'm staying for 3 days for work. I'm lecturing so need a good night's sleep and somewhere to eat. The hotel was busy with guests, LOTS of guests for Christmas meals, One of the senior wait staff saw me to my room and promised me...a table even though they were rammed. When I came down they found me a table at the back where I could see the Christmas tree and people watch. The food was quick, fresh and piping hot. The fries were deliciously crunchy and soft inside and the fish was wonderful. I'm coeliac so was reassured to see so many Gluten Free options on the menu. It's clearly a very popular place as it was full and people were happy to wait. The staff are cheerful and friendly and really made me feel welcome, not an inconvenience on a busy night. And then I've got a lovely clean fresh bed to climb into.More

Lovely hotel, beautiful room, and the best concierge we ever came across! Downstairs is dated, but the lovely Bill, showed us all the way to our lovely room, which was freshly and tastefully decorated, and absolutely immaculately clean. Breakfast great, and the town of Bridgewater...absolutely lovely.More

Very friendly welcome from Reception . You can see that the hotel is being refurbished bit by bit, so whilst the bedroom was pretty standard , our massive en suite bathroom was brand new , and would not have been out of place in a...four or five star hotel. Very comfortable beds, and generally quiet , so we had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was excellent , and the woman who served us was fantastic ; nothing was too much trouble for her, and she was great fun to talk to. This is a really well run place , with lovely staff , and we’ll definitely stay here again when we’re in the areaMore

What a fabulous experience this was. From the second we entered until the time we left, we experienced utter professionalism from every single member of staff. The place itself is very welcoming too....you can really sense the history here. There was cuch a cosy feel...to this restaurant and we felt so looked after too. The food was out of this world with the Mushroom Stroganoff haunting my dreams ever since....it was utterly divine. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. These people should give lessons in how to run an eatery correctly. Ten out of ten for the wonderful, welcoming staff and another ten out of ten to the incredible chefs behind the scenes. The Dream Team!More

This family run hotel has been in the hands of the Mozoures since April 1st 1963. It has never changed hands and is now a local institution. It hasn't so much changed over the years as evolved. Tonight we were invited to a wedding anniversary...celebration and thoroughly enjoyed it. Plates were sent back empty and the beverages were very good and reasonably priced. The service was 5 star and I must mention some of the family and long standing staff by name. Firstly Mike senior in the kitchen alongside Andrew Driver. On the shop floor we found Julie, Zoë and the inimitable Dan whilst Andrew's handling of the till at the end of the night was polite and professional. Also the legendary silver fox sommelier Bill is still going strong. Just short of its 60th anniversary I see no reason why it shouldn't last another 60. As hotel, bar and restaurant I commend it to you.More
