Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a find!! Can not recommend this Tea Room highly enough. We’ve had lots of cream teas over the years, but Bramdowns is the best ever. The homemade scones were amazing. The service was first class and so friendly. The decor and the crockery are...lovely, also with the music in the background you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Thoroughly enjoyed it, so much more than just a cream tea. Long May you continue, Ladies. Next time we’re passing by Porlock, Bramdowns, is a definite stop off.More

This cafe is the type you dream of ….. a friendly welcome, excellent menu plus cakes & scones. We believe every food item on sale is homemade on the premises. Lovely surroundings, friendly & welcoming. If they are selling home-made crumpets, strongly recommend you buy...some (we bought take away crumpets). A really super cafe - lucky Porlock! (And it is dog friendly!✔️).More

At the end of a bracing walk we were in need of refreshments. We stumbled across this wonderful tea room. A warm greeting was soon forgotten when we discovered the cakes/scones on display all home baked by the owner. And all washed down by “proper”...tea in a China tea pot. Just wonderful and British !!!More

Love the scones and cream tea. My husband loved his warmed crumpets. Very good service. The tearoom is quite small but they fitted us in at a nice table.

As soon as you enter you are transported back to the rather.more genteel times of the tween war tea rooms, and it's heavenly! Beautiful floral mismatched tea sets, tiny little tea pots, old fashioned "high"tea items and (bliss) Glen Miller music in the background! All...beautiful!! All the food on offer seems home made, tasty and gorgeous, a real treat in these times of burgers and happy meals. The staff are divine and complete the picture of old fashioned hospitality, we loved it!!!!More

Had our evening meal here on Tuesday. By far the best we’ve had in the week. Tasty starters, the chicken pie was delicious with very light pastry, the lasagna was really nice too. Followed by great desserts. Washed down with local cider. Thoroughly enjoyed it....Very attentive staff, and all food prepared on the premises. Definitely recommend it and will go back next time I’m in the area.More

Stopped in at Porlock on way home from family holiday. We were so happy to have found this tearoom. Friendly owners & staff, really kind and either though we were not waiting for long at all, they kept us updated on how long our food...would be. My children loved their milkshakes. We had sandwiches with homemade gorgeous coleslaw which were amazing. The ploughman’s was huge and lovely and the cheese scone went down a treat. We even bought cakes & home home crumpets to take home. We also Loved using the cups & saucers. 6 lunches, cakes & crumpets with drinks for £70. Very reasonable. Finding a place like this means we will definitely return. Thank you so much.More

The homemade pasties are Incredible! Literally the best I have ever tasted in my life. Beautiful filled, homemade, and very fresh. The coleslaw was homemade as well, and just perfect in every way. Cute and cosy atmosphere.

I love a pasty and their savoury lamb was the best I've tasted bar none. Speaking to the owner, it was clear she'd gone to great lengths to get it right. Same goes for the coleslaw. A charming little teashop. Super friendly. A lucky find.

We arrived here hungry and cold and were so pleased we stepped through the door. Warm and cosy with the fire burning. We were soon sipping hot tea and eating home made crumpets and cakes. Delicious and good value.

Popped in here whist visiting Porlock, and having read previous reviews. This is the best cream tea that you are likely to experience. Huge and delicious, warm scones with lashings of cream and jam, plus a choice of teas served in proper china ware. All...served by the lovely lady who does everything so well.More

This has to be the best food and value in Somerset. Friendly service, nice ambience and good value. The home made cold slaw was a nice finishing touch. Top marks.
