Visited here three times while staying in Watchet for a long weekend. The first night food was disappointing. both the pie and 'roast new potatoes' were not well cooked. The fish though was excellent. On that basis we tried again the next night and found the food much improved and again it was good on the third night. Maybe it... More

We went here as we're on a day trip to Watchet and after some research chose the Star Inn. It's a great little pub but lacks the basics skills, the staff not once asked if our meal was okay, we weren't asked if we enjoyed the meal when they took the plates away and when paying the bill we didn't... Good selection of local beers and a historic setting make for a great Watchet experience. Given this review is for a restaurant it can only score 3 as the food was pretty average. If you are look for simple pub food - great. If not i'd eat elsewhere.

We stay in Williton often but the usual dinner venue there was shut (mid winter cold Sunday evening). On the off chance we went to Watchet and found the Star open and servicing food. Nice warm welcome when we went in, huge choice of food and several interesting beers on the bar. Not many people in though, but those that... More

The star is one of our local pubs but this was the first time in years that we came to try their Sunday lunch. We came as a group of 4 and we all asked each other why we've never been more often because it was delicious! There was a choice of roast duck, beef...and I can't remember whether the... More

Only popped in for a quick pint and to check out the menu on the way to the curry house. Saw the special board and stayed for dinner. Very warm and friendly

We were staying in Watchet and liked the look of the pub. You are generally advised to book as it is popular, but we managed to get a table for two without booking. I highly recommend the Exmoor half duck- it was gorgeous. My Wife had lamb which was also excellent. I had sticky toffee pudding also lovely. Highly recommended

Lovely meal here while staying at doniford bay. All dishes were great, especially the steaks. I recommend this place but you will need to book.
