Langan’s Tea Rooms, Burton on Trent and Cannock, are owned by the O’Connor Gateway Charitable Trust and run as a social enterprise. Enjoy traditional home-cooked food made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients in the elegant surroundings of Burton House in the heart of Burton-on-Trent and Number 95, High Green in Cannock. Langan’s Tea Rooms serve freshly prepared breakfasts, lunches, including Sunday lunch, and traditional afternoon teas. All revenue is ploughed back into community services to provide education, training and employment for those individuals who have undergone rehabilitation at the BAC O’Connor centres in Staffordshire. All profits help the staff & volunteers gain qualifications and valuable skills within a supportive environment. All staff in the Tea Rooms are graduates of the BAC O’Connor Centre. Langan’s Tea Rooms is there to help support your community working with you to make a difference to Burton, Cannock and surrounding areas, so please support us.

Nice afternoon tea

Went for a drive out & called in at Burton upon Trent. Had a walk around & having seen & read the reviews on trip advisor, headed to Langan’s tea rooms. The service is very friendly and they leave you alone but give you time to decide what you want and seem aware when you are ready to order. We had the afternoon tea for two consisting ham & roast chicken sandwiches, salad, scones with jam & clotted cream, plus home made cakes & a giant pot of tea served in nice china cups. All of this for just £14.50 for the 2 of us. Very nice🙂

Full English breakfast delivered hot and fresh during lockdown! Life saver! 🥓

We had full English breakfast delivered hot to our door this morning. It was beautiful! 8 items! Tasty, hot and delivered in less than 30 mins. You can choose how to have your egg, which bread you want and you can add items for extra 40p! They are delivering during lock down just call and place your order and you can pay with card over the phone.

Fabulous diner delivery

We ordered the five bean chilli and a vegan shepherd's pie, one ready eat and the other for the freezer. Chilli was lovely, just the right amount of kick to it and the kids enjoyed it too. Very generous portions which satisfied two teenagers for £10 all in with rice too! Delivery couldn't have been easier or more socially distanced as the Langan's team put it straight into the car boot from their catering van as we popped the boot from the window! Thanks Team Langan's :-)

Disappointing Sunday lunch

After reading many good reviews for Langans Sunday lunch, booked in today at 2.30. Not a bad greeting, shown to table and right away was asked what I wanted to drink. I ordered a beef lunch which was served up within 10mins. The plate was cold and the vegetables and gravy were bought along in 2 more trips. The beef was very overcooks, the roast potatoes rubbery, cauliflower cheese inedible as was the broccoli. The baton carrots were ok but cold, Yorkshire pudding cold and gravy was like dishwater, so disappointing as I had decided to treat myself as I was unable to cook due to an injury. The saving grace was the lemon and almond cake and the service from Lindsay. Thank you Lyndsey for your concern. At nearly £12 fo one person definitely not good value for money. Will not be returning.

By definition every other restaurant/tea room should follow this style of, sadly declining, service. Sandwich preparation is a work of artistry. The offerings are super fresh. Absolute excellence. If I lived in Burton I'd be a daily visitor.

Best mince pies in Staffordshire

We ordered a Langan's delivery for our socially distanced office lunch last Friday and make an excellent decision to get in the festive spirit and order some home-made mince pies for later in the afternoon. Lunch was fantastic as always (can definitely recommend the southern fried chicken ciabatta and chips but prepare to be very full!) and the mince pies were amazing. We have a vegetarian in the team and the staff at langan's checked that the mince pies were veggie friendly, she was very happy that they are so we could all enjoy them too. Delivered on time, clearly labelled so easy to distribute amongst the team and everyone was very happy with their choices. Thanks Langan's

Afternoon tea for 3 as birthdasy treat

A lovely turn on f the 19th Century setting with high ceilings and intriguing bas relief ceiling. A delightful bespoke tea served on the traditional three tier cake stands completed the feeling of being back in the early 1900's. Food was yummy with loads of sandwiches, scones and cake. Service was very sound too. They even catered for our non dairy needs.

A real treat

Visited Langans tea rooms for the first time today. Lovely characterful building, very friendly and attentive staff. We had afternoon tea which was excellent, sandwiches freshly made, scones served warm with lashings of jam and clotted cream. Tea was also good quality and served in a proper china tea pot, ver impressed. With the offer of various cakes to choose from we opted for toffee and pecan sponge and lemon and almond, enabling us to try two choices,even better when so nicely packed up fir us to bring home . All in all a great experience snd with so many other options on the menu to try, we shall return soon. Thank you so much.

Afternoon Tea

Although the tea cups, tea pots and the cake stand didn't match at all, we couldn't fault the afternoon tea it's self, especially the scones and cakes, they were delicious. Would have been better if we were offered a selection of teas to drink with the afternoon tea, however couldn't fault the tea it was served with. Thank you to all the staff 😀

Part of the charm of Langan’s is its quirkiness by using mix and match crockery which has been kindly donated by customers who wish to support our social enterprise further. Really disappointing afternoon tea

Really disappointing visit. Arrived to collect takeaway afternoon tea to be told they don’t have the booking. Ordered and paid for 5 days earlier. Waited half an hour for them to do it, but emphasising one is gluten free so checked that they had provision. Had been before for afternoon tea and there were “no gluten free cakes” so checked before hand and was reassured that “the chef will make some.” half an hour later afternoon tea arrives so I leave. Get to friends to mark special occasion, order of sandwich’s was wrong, Incorrect drinks provided, quite clearly they had quickly defrosted gf bread and scones as these were both rock hard and inedible. However I am pleased that they had managed to quickly run to Sainsbury to buy a gf cake and provide the smallest piece….. but not the cakes promised by the “chef.” Needless to say majority went in the bin! I’m all for supporting community enterprises but this was shocking and unfortunately won’t be returning

A perfect place for our Christmas get together

Despite our over stretching Langans resources somewhat, the team coped admirably and managed our requirements perfectly. The Family support group hadn’t met in person for almost two years and many hadn’t met at all save zoom etc. so we’re all looking forward to it. We certainly weren’t disappointed. The room had been prepared perfectly initially and was adapted to suit our additional numbers with no hassle whatsoever. The freshly prepared food was cooked to a tee and expertly served by the staff, some of whom have become friends over the years. We always look forward to our visits to Langans be it for just a coffee and a chat or a meal chosen from the menu. It’s like we’re all one big family. Just a thank you for making our get together special. Norman

We tried phoning yesterday and got through to the booking option. Half an hour later we arrived and the table was waiting. Lovely full English breakfast which went right to the spot. Our only slight criticism is that the toast wasn’t quite done and resembled a cross between warm bread and toast. Minor issue though. Great meal anyway as ever.

Worst Sunday Lunch

We visited this tea room on a recommendation from a friend today . The building is beautiful, the decor and dining tables left a lot to be desired and all looked a rather disjointed interior with minimal atmosphere. Service was fine, coffee was fine but the Sunday lunch for £11.95 was bland and unappetising. The chicken was presented as a fillet of chicken breast , over cooked and dry, no skin or evidence of being freshly roasted. It was nasty. The gravy didn’t taste like chicken gravy but rather like a beef packet mix gravy. The stuffing ball tasted like a Paxo packet job and was dry and anaemia looking. The roast potatoes tasted like they had been precooked and re warmed and the carrots and broccoli were bland with lack of seasoning. Yorkshire puddings were no where to be seen but I believe they were listed as part of the roast. We were very disappointed. The all day breakfast looked more encouraging, and wish we’d have ordered that instead. We didn’t stop for desert as the quality and freshness of the food was now in question. Such a shame.

I love this place. The building is fascinating. The afternoon tea is great. It is very good value and the sandwiches come served on a beautiful cake stand. I love the fact that the plates don’t match. It is very quirky. We will definitely be back. Would definitely recommend.

Went for a breakfast with friends. Warm, welcoming and friendly staff in a beautiful setting. The meals were freshly prepared to order and delicious, served in an attentive way that you knew the staff wanted you to have the best experience possible. The prices for the quality of food and service was exceptional value. Highly recommended.
