We habe been there with three people after climbing. The vegetarian Lasagne with chips looked promising, but its taste was boring. Guess they didn't use any herbs. The cheese burger was a kind if joke. It came cold and we asked to heat it. They brought it back and then we had to ask for cutlery. Then probably the owner... More

We visited the rock inn this evening. The service / food/ was spot on & good value for money. We only have a smaller appetite & appreciated the smaller menu. The people who are running this place down on T.A. have obviously been unfortunate.

Last night my Dad and I went out to the Ye Olde Rock Inn for some tea. The service was spot on and the food was fantastic. It is also worth pointing out that it is not expensive by any stretch of the imagination so good value really comes to mind. The pub has a nice old feeling to it... More

One of my favourite lunches here is the braised steak. It had been a while since I had tried it so I thought it about time to have it once more. As tasty as ever. A good pint of real ale to wash it down and I was set up for the rest of the day day.

Within a challenging walk from our caravan site, Ye Olde Rock Inn offers a nice relaxed atmosphere, plenty of choice of beers and a good and varied menu with an interesting cook yourself option of Hot Rocks! Meat is served raw on a hot rock (over 440 deg C) and you can cook your steak to your liking. A great... More

Very nice traditionally built pub in the heart of The Roaches. We arrived after a walk in the Roaches. I had Scampi, 2 of my party had steak. All nicely cooked

We came here tonight for a meal as we heard it was lovely food and you could cook your own steak. We walked over to the bar to ask to be shown our table, the young lad took us to our table which the chairs were way to high for the table I felt like I was towered over my... More

Description
Ye Olde Rock Inn is a charming country inn dating back to the 17th century. Located at the foot of The Roaches and in the heart of the Peak District National Park it is an ideal base for walking, climbing and cycling or simply a beautiful backdrop for drink and a bite to eat.We pride ourselves on providing a friendly atmosphere for you to enjoy a relaxed drink and great home cooked food.We have a traditional bar lounge, large dining area, separate TV room and a pool room with our hikers bar (muddy boots & dogs welcome!). Weather permitting we have patio areas at the front and at the rear of the pub. We also have a function room and restaurant and for those who want to stay a little longer we even have a self contained, fully equipped, holiday flat which sleeps up to 4 people. Our extensive menu offers something for all tastes, whether you’re looking for a home made curry or chilli con carne or a more traditional choice of steaks or beer battered haddock (made with our own real ale). We offer a variety of meals on our specials board each day and we do a traditional roast dinner every Sunday lunchtime. We are also really excited to offer the unique, healthy and interactive HOT ROCK dining experience. We offer a wide range of draft and bottled beer. With bitters, lagers and ciders to suit all tastes, plus three cask ales, at least one of which is always from a local brewery. With over 30 different spirits, an extensive wine list and a good variety of soft drinks, you will never be short of choice at Ye Olde Rock Inn.We also offer a wide range of hot drinks as well so if you need warming up after a good walk on the Roaches on a cold winters day, fancy a nice afternoon coffee and cake, or just want to finish off your meal with an espresso or liqueur coffee, we have just what you’re looking for.
