Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were in London for a close friends wedding. The Night before, we went out to explore. We found The Box Park area to be very noisy. Plus one of the security was rude to us, so we decided to go elsewhere. Undecided, we found...Bao Bao. We were unsure, but decided to give it a try. I am soooooooo glad we did. The food was amazing. Atmosphere was chilled. Staff were so friendly and helpful. We were in uncharted waters, unsure of the food. The staff explained everything to us. Even one of the customers who was from Taiwan also helped. The entire experience was amazing. We just loved the place. If I lived local to this fantastic place, I would be in there all of the time. Hopefully the guys who served and cooked for us will read this. I would just like to say thankyou from myself and my wife Dawn for a truly fantastic meal and lovely experience. xMore

Bao bao used to be my wife and I fave takeaway by a country mile. Unfortunately they have recently changed both their menu and packaging they use to deliver. What used to be fresh, crispy and tasty every single time is now soggy, less fresh...and all in all a huge let down. They used to separate the rice, chicken and salad so each item stayed as it should be. Now it’s all in one bowl and as a result becomes like one gelatinous mass by the time it turns up. They also now force you to order hugely underwhelming vegetable sides that look thrown together and are cooked poorly. Why they would change a winning formula is a total mystery and we will not be ordering from here anymore.More

We spent £35 on lunch and ended up throwing the majority away. The Pork bao was ok.. otherwise everything else was awful. Chicken was fatty and flavours were poor. Overall a terrible lunch.More

First time I tried a bao bun and it definitely won't be the last! The prawn one was unusual and delicious. Lamb one was equally tasty. I had the impression that good quality ingredients were used.

Good little Taiwanese restaurant near East Croydon station offering traditional street food. Food quality very good and staff friendly and attentive. Dining experience was let down by broken front door allowing cold wind to blow in throughout the meal. Average price for London - Starters...drinks and mains (there was a lot of food) for 4 people came to £100 + service.More

What they lack in space and table numbers, they make up in good service and attention to customers. Friendly efficient service. The chap checked on us twice during our meal. The food was delicious. The teriyaki mushroom bao, chicken katsu curry, prawn cake bao were...particularly good.More

We came here on Friday 4th March at 5PM. It was a little busy on takeaway but fine for eat in. Didn't wait too long on the food. Our Spicy Fried Chicken with rice was fantastic. It came with side salad and Miso soup. Braised...Pork Bun was great. Beef Noodle Soup was ok. We also had a bottle of Asahi and a pot of Hot Jasmine Green Tea. It was 39 £ for all which was reasonably priced. Nice services even they were very busy tho. Highly recommended if you are around Boxpark Croydon or train station.More

I went to buy a bubble tea and was second in the queue, it took them over 25 minutes to even take my order and then the tea didn’t even taste that great. I’m a big fan of bubble tea which is why I decided...to wait so long but I was highly disappointed with this experience. If you are going to buy from them I recommended you order and pick it up,More

Amongst the best Bao I have eaten. I especially like the lamb and the pork. The fried chicken is also really good. One of my favourite places to eat locally. We usually like to pick up some bubble tea here as they are actually quite good with a nice amount of toppings. the food is also of a good quality and I find it more tasty than other oriental cuisine in the area. However I...like to call up early so I can collect at work sometimes and despite them having ample time it's NEVER on time and I end up always waiting easily an extra 20 minutes... the service is the lower end of decent. not a good general standard of manners and quite wooden? if not for slow service and robotic staff this would be a much better establishment as it is literally saved by theoat important thing... the food.More

Tried the original pearl tea to takeaway, was good quality with a nice chew to the tapioca and option to alter sweetness (normally I go with less) and ice. Have tried a few other places in London and was the best I've had as yet,...so will definitely return. Service was fine, quite normal to take a bit of time to prep, it was relaxed and polite.More
