extremely nice sunday roast

We were for the sunday roast as a large group of friends with mixed ages, 8 months to 93 years old and were looked after really well. Despite some chaos on our side about pudding options ( people kept changing their minds) the staff were consistently kind, helpful and flexible with food requests despite being rushed off their feet with a full pub The food was really nice, the roast lamb and roast beef was very tender, decent veg and lovely yorkshires/ potatoes. They were able to provide gluten free gravy. I can totaly recommend people try their sunday lunch, and probably well worth popping in during the week as well for their normal menu. They have lots of tv screens visible from most seats so a good pub to have a couple of drinks and watch sport as well.

Solo Dinner for One

This evening I was treated to the best quick and easy Dinner for One. I opted to go for the Dirty Fries,served with Spring Onion, chilli, garlic,bacon and cheese. Not being a fan of chilli, Edyta the Barlady was kind enough to suggest that they put the Chilli and Garlic on the side for me. Marcus, the Manager on duty suggested I pair my fries with a delicious Apple and mixed Berries Crumble which turned out to be the best I have ever had. Not only was the Bacon not too over crispy but the cheese was still soft and easy to scoop up with the deliciously crispy but soft fries. And genorous helping of spring onion just topped it off. My Crumble turned up with the perfect amount of of Custard and this was just enough to complete the Solo Dinner for One. Great customer service from Edyta and Marcus. Really nice to see the Pub so lively again. And the DJ is playing all the right song!!!

We were a large group attending for a birthday celebration and it was a really lovely evening. Food lovely, staff very welcoming and accommodating, huge portions of food and an extra effort made to make it feel special for the birthday boy. Would definitely come again :)

Fantastic service.

What a fabulous experience, from the beginning to the end of our lunch. The fish and chips, and sausages and mash were delicious, as was the shared chocolate brownie with strawberry ice cream, and a fresh strawberry. Paulie made sure that we were well looked after, and was friendly and polite as always. This is now our regular local venue.

Aggressive staff

Hats off to the chef. The food was outstanding, the staff behind the bar on the other hand were rude, intimidating and aggressive. (The blonde one inparticular). My friend left the pub in floods of tears after being spoken (shouted) at by the blonde woman.WILL NOT BE RETURNING

Glad to support a local pub

We had a Sunday lunch and the food was delicious with good sized portions. Friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Family and dog friendly. Looking forward to trying the Saturday menu on our next visit.

Saturday Lunch for six people.

We had a wide variety of menu choices. All were wonderful. Mine was the Tennessee's Ribs. 16 of them! I couldn't stop until only bones remained. Chips sweet or standard potato, beautifully cooked. Hand pump beer well kept. Plenty of keg beers and ciders options. Regards Mark...

Fantastic Place and Atmosphere

What a great pub! Great atmosphere and family feel. Fantastic service and very good value for money. We went for Sunday lunch recently which was amazing! The food was spot on and we left with very happy belly’s! We also visited one evening to a live band, great music, great vibes, overall a fantastic evening. Would highly recommend this place and the staff are all so friendly. A warm welcome awaits 😀

Would not return!

I would not recommend this pub to families! We arrived to watch the England semi final euro game as a family. I arrived early and reserved a booth with my 2 children. When I arrived we were greeted by miserable bar staff. We took our seats and began to watch the game. At half time a burley bouncer approached my 11 year old son and asked him to tell his parent that we have to leave as he is not over 18. My husband at the time was at the bar ordering more drinks. My son then went over to his dad crying his eyes out because we had to leave the pub. No one had mentioned anything to us about leaving otherwise we would never had arranged to go there! After her making a phone call to “the boss” he said we had to leave! I was so angry! My son was so upset! We wasn’t told before hand that we had to leave and should have been allowed to at least stay until the 90 mins. The bar staff didn’t know what rules were meant to be followed it was a shambles! Not a family friendly pub Would never return and wouldn’t recommend to families

Great roasts and amazing hospitality!

Amazing veggie and pork Sunday roast. Great hospitality, cold lovely wine, cold well kept beer and a super friendly welcome. This pub has a bit of a rough past pre apple tree times, this is a lesson not to judge! It’s also also epic value for south London. Staff hi our or their way to be helpful and lovely. Would return every Sunday if we could but I live too far away :(

Wow what can I say about the apple tree fantastic atmosphere and great food from start to finish the evening was fantastic great the atmosphere and staff were lovely especially Emma Evans couldn't find any fault and will be making it my local 😀

Food is excellent. Staff are friendly and welcoming especially Paulie and Emma who are amazing hosts. Great atmosphere. I highly recommend you give this local a try.
