Location and contact

The Mute Swan, opposite the gates of Hampton Court Palace, is our 'English-dining-pub-meets-wine-bar'. Arranged over two floors, downstairs is more pubby\\/wine bar in style, and focussed on the bar, while upstairs has a more food-led restaurant ambience - but the menu is available throughout so people can choose which style suits them best.\\n\\nOutside we have a good-sized terrace for al frescodrinking and dining, which will be a real draw on sunny days and a fine place for a spot of lunch with friends and family. Went to the Mute Swan this afternoon for lunch with my family. What a beautiful pub/Restaurant with a lively dining area upstairs with pretty balconies and river views right opposite Hampton Court Palace. Food was good and staff excellent. We had a lovely time!

We & our daughter & daughter-in-law, had super food, excellent ales and a very friendly service. There is a cheerful bustling atmosphere at The Mute Swan which is getting rarer these days.

6 real ales (including a porter) and 1 real cider all well kept. A range of really good food, and friendly staff. If only all pubs could be like this.

My daughter and I had lunch at the Mute Swan after visiting Hampton Court. In a word, outstanding. The service was friendly as well as efficient, the place is beautifully furnished, and the food terrific. The basil tomato soup, in particular, was fabulous. Highly recommended.

Easily our favourite pub, combining lovely service, decent food and drink and a warm and comfortable environment, especially in the buzzy downstairs pub section. Yes it’s a chain but it still has a personality of its own. Happy to recommend and always happy to return!

After a day out at the palace on a Winter's day, and before the half hour journey on the train back into London, it was great to have some pub grub nearby (also it didn't seem like there was anything else nearby!)
