Coffee was just fine, service left me cold

This place looks lovely and I stopped it in for a coffee. After paying for my drinks was pleasantly surprised to find a small play area in the back. The kids were thrilled to be able to play while we waited for our drinks. When...I picked up the drinks I was asked if they were playing, I said yes and was told that I had only spent 6.50 and I had to have spent 7 for my kids to play. I appreciate they can’t have people walking off the street to use their lovely play area but c’mon, seems to be intentionally priced so that a mom with 2 kids buying three drinks has to buy something extra. Honestly probably would’ve paid it if there had been a note posted somewhere or if they had mentioned it when I paid but it felt a bit tacked on and rude, so we left. The coffee was nothing special and the experience left me feeling put off. Maybe if I lived a little closer I’d give it another try but it’s a trip in the car anyway so I’ll stick to places that feel a bit friendlier; life feels hard enough as a mum. I’ve given it 3 starts as I hope I caught them on a bad day.More

Disappointed...

I can't understand the raving reviews of this average cafe which has no redeeming features whatsoever. I came to check it out because of the reviews....That'll teach me! Average coffee....all airy froth and no creaminess and numbingly hot...as a trained barista myself I know the...difference...comfier chairs in Costa! I wish them all the best because I know how hard work it is to run such a place....Tho I'm looking forward to Gail's opening on Friday......check it out!More

Great local spot

Lovely little spot for a quick drink and food. Didn’t realise there is a mini soft play out the back too. Good for a coffee before getting the train.

Great food, fab little soft play

Best coffee in Epsom

Trying to support local businesses rather than chains my friend and I popped in here rather than Costa next door. So glad we did! We were made to feel really welcome, the coffee was amazing and the staff were constantly cleaning down tables and chairs...as people left so it felt very safe. Really recommend it.More

A most hospitable owner

Found this independent coffee shop whilst looking for a place to work and wait. Very much recommend it. The owner is very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Welcoming independent coffee shop

Recommended by our daughter, we visited on a Saturday morning with the family. Good atmosphere, and coffee to die for, it was that good. Efficient service and friendly staff who were kept very busy with the numbers of customers. Many young families catered for with...a soft play area at the rear. Wheelchair accessible with one big loo for all. Only downside is the acoustics where we were sitting. With many hard surfaces, sound tended to echo so it became quite noisy.More

Wonderful independent community focused coffee shop

This coffee shop is 2 doors down from Epsom Rail Station. It is a wonderfully friendly and professionally run business. The staff are lovely and the owners AJ and Saima ensured that our very specific request regards food and coffee were perfectly undertaken. The quality...of both the food and coffee was superb and both AJ and Saima took the time to speak with customers. A real gem of a find!More
