Very nice place for an evening meal. Easy to park, lots of choice on the menu. Really impressed by our waitress named Jo. So friendly and helpful. She really looked after us well. Food was very nice.

Last night: delicious food, comfy seating, welcoming staff & atmosphere; pleasant surroundings overlooking Epsom Racecourse. The mains of salmon fillet, hollandaise sauce, new potatoes & veg, and chicken souvlaki with salad, pitta bread & chips were perfect; no room for desserts which looked substantial. Great setting! Love coming here. We had a window table and a friendly and attentive waitresss who looked after us well. We all enjoyed our starters and main courses - choosing from a wide selection. We gave desserts a miss and finished with coffees. Reaalyenjoyed...our lunches.More

A great evening out with friends. Delicious food & a well kept pint. We were a large group & all of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The service was excellent : our waitress was attentive & friendly - the perfect combination of professionalism & pleasantness.

This restaurant does not cater for coeliacs . No gluten free bread such a basic request in this day and age. Tiger prawns stale not fresh. Please avoid if you have any allergies or intolerance.

We visited this restaurant with family as we had heard they had a fabulous Sunday roast lunch and we were not dissapointed. All of our meals were very tasty ,good portions and well presented. The waitress that served us was excellent . We will return......

Visited Saturday 30th September and ordered fried halloumi from gluten free menu. When it arrived it looked like it was coated with flour. I asked if it was gf and was advised yes so i started eating. The waitress then came back and removed my...food saying it wasn’t. She apologised but did not ask if i was ok or how i would react to the gluten. She said she would speak to the Manager. The Manager didn’t even have the decency to come to talk to me to see how i was. I was offered a free desert and hot drink in a way as if i should be grateful. Still no one asked how i was and what severity of symptoms i would likely experience. I didn’t make a fuss as we were with friends but quite frankly i am appalled they had no regard for my health. I spent the whole night awake with stomach cramps and am feeling very tired and upset by the experience.More

We have been going to the Rubbing House for several years and on the whole have been impressed with the service and food. But the most recent trip we were very disappointed at the high pricing of the food, especially the desserts. Specifically I ordered...the 'NEW' Banana Sticky Toffee Pudding - something slightly different I thought. The dessert was not big (about 6cm square) and what made it a 'banana' version was the sad looking single thin slice of banana on the top. Wow! To be honest I couldn't help feeling the chef was taking the proverbial. And I paid £8.50 for this. We are thinking it is now time to look elsewhere for the family get togethers.More

The food we had was excellent and the food service very friendly and helpful. However my gripe is with the booking. I tried four times on a Friday to make a telephone booking, the call was answered with a recorded announcement asking me to try...again later. The same result the following day. I will have been charged for every unproductive call. In the end I had to visit to make the booking, a return journey of nearly 20 miles. There is no means of leaving a telephone message and no email address. The website is no more than 'brochureware'. Other neighbouring restaurants have a proper booking system in their website.More

I left before eating. As a solo traveller I was initially told there was nowhere for a single person to sit outside and then placed by the waiting staff’s cutlery station which in a really bleak part of the outdoor area. No one came to...take my order - this seems standard service from the other reviews - so I took my business elsewhere, as the menu didn’t really inspire me either - seemed fairly generic but overpriced pub fare.More
