Will definitely go back again.
We visited for the first time today and we couldn’t fault a thing! As soon as we entered the pub we were made to feel very welcome, the staff were absolutely lovely. We ordered our drinks and although I’m not really a beer/real ale drinker...More
I was also dining here when 827estherg and their party arrived.
From the outset the child was noisy and shouting. The proprietor asked them to reduce the noise, and so they gave the boy a mobile 'phone to play games with. Unfortunately, the volume was...More
Went to The Alfred this weekend and yet again a lovely meal in a pub restaurant run by a warm and welcoming family. The food, as usual, was delicious and the décor warm and cosy. Service tip top and atmosphere/ambience just right for a great...More
The WORST pub/restaurant I’ve ever been to in 25+ years of going out for meals. We have taken our son to many restaurants including Michelin starred ones in Asia, Europe. We have NEVER been told to ask our son to keep the noise down and...More
The Alfred do the most amazing home made beef burgers. A variety of about 8 different toppings. In addition to them being succulent and delicious they are a whopping great size. They are available 7 nights a week but Wednesday is burger night and only...More
This Pub typifies why you still can’t beat the archetypal English pub .
You come out here with that feelgood factor. Well cooked food , sensible prices, great beer and a warm inviting atmosphere .
It’s no wonder that their fame is spreading. A refreshing...More
The staff are so friendly and welcoming. 3 course set Sunday roast meal is a very decent price considering you literally get enough food to feed the 5000!!! The amount of vegetable side dishes and meat on the plate is bonkers but everything was stupidly...More
I came in recently with my boyfriend who is also a vegetarian, and we were blown away with the quality of the food. Every single burger option had a veggie equivalent and they were so tasty. Finally a pub we can go to with more...More

Hi there, Yes we Can! Obviously we have nuts in the building, but all of our food is homemade so we know what is in it. What is always best is to call a few days before, or as early as you can and talk to fiona who does the food. This is also recommended as we change the menu each week. In all fairness a lot of our menu is nut free and we have catered for serious allergies before. By the way, did you phone us Earlier? We had a very busy booked up Friday evening so we couldn't say much at the time, sorry about That!
Hope this Helps!
Joe @ the Alfred
