From the moment we walked in, the lovely atmosphere and friendliness of the staff oozed into the pub. We were three adults and four children and the food was exceptional- tasty, hot and plentiful. It was refreshing that the kid’s were offered the adult’s menu ( half sized portions of the adult’s) rather than the usual chicken nuggets. The kids even said it was the best meal they’d ever had in a pub. We’re looking forward to enjoying further lunches and dinners there soon, with and without the kids. A fantastic pub all round. Thank you again to the team.

Went for a large prebooked family Sunday lunch and skittles in the hired room, the staff were really friendly and efficient, the Sunday roast was delicious large portions. Highly recommended traditional pub with great menu. Will return.

We had been told by friends that The Six Bells was open again under new management. With that in mind we booked a table for Sat evening 4th Sept. The place really looks amazing from the outside with a terrific display of hanging baskets etc. Inside the place was very quiet and bar staff immediately made us feel very welcome. To me it is always a terrific pub with a great traditional style within and a great local pub. We had drinks outside in the beer garden first and then came i for our meal. My first choice meal half roast chicken was unfortunately not available and I opted for the sausage and mash. My wife had the Beef Lasagne, and after a short wait and more drinks the food arrived. The meals looked superb and while our waitress Rosie went to get condiments for us, my wife checked the centre of her Beef Lasagne by putting her knife in the centre but unfortunately it was cold. Rosie apologised and took it back to the kitchen and in 5 minutes like magic it arrived back absolutely piping hot in the centre and even bubbling around the edges. After this we both ate two really lovely meals and enjoyed the quality and taste of both. We would certainly eat here again as we enjoyed the atmosphere, service and friendly staff.

The table was not set for the correct number of people and ended up being moved around several times before getting it right. The meals were pre-ordered but when they came out they were not as ordered Beef Bourguignon became braised steak and was very salty so could not be eaten, sauces did not come with other meals and cold custard with the crumble desert to finish it of. Service very slow.

Hopeful that new owners and a fresh start after lockdown would have got this place back on track. Sad to say it continues to be a below average experience. Such a shame as the refurbishments that have taken place over the years have made it a lovely pub, inside and out. We popped in for a quick lunch and sat outside where the space is well set up. The waitress was very friendly and welcoming so it started off well. I ordered a chicken, avocado and bacon salad. Clearly the chicken is pre cooked and then re heated to char it when the orders come in. The result was the driest, toughest, flavourless and inedible chicken I’ve ever tasted. I managed to finish one mouthful before pushing to the side. The bacon again was pre cooked and cut up and placed limply around the plate. To be balanced the lettuce was ok. When the waitress asked how things were I advised the chicken was inedible and it just wasn’t a good plate of food. She was apologetic and said she would tell the chef. Sadly we got no response from the chef which is an indication of how little they care. We then paid up and left. The menu options were a bit average but as long as they are all cooked well that can still be a good thing. If you can’t get a salad right then I dread to think how the chef will cope with more complex tasks. No chef with any sort of pride would use dried out pre cooked ingredients.

We popped into the Six Bells today for the first time in about 2 years. I'm guessing it's under new ownership again, the pub looked great from the outside with lovely flowers and there were plenty of people enjoying a pint in the sun sat outside. We were met inside by very friendly bar staff - all young, all very polite and very attentive too. We could sit anywhere we liked and as soon as we sat down someone took our order for drinks and delivered them to our table. The menu was great, I opted for the Pork Sunday Roast and it came out very well presented with a separate bowl of lovely Veg and a tasty Gravy Boat. It was all lovely, and included a great big Yorkshire Pudding, a roasted apple and cracking too, although I don't think the cracking was cooked with the meat and could have been better. My wife had the Cumberland Sausages with Mash, Peas and Gravy and that was gorgeous too. There was no waiting around, and we paid the bill at the bar as we left. The staff were great throughout. We would definitely go back again.

On the spur of the moment on Friday lunchtime 24 June we drop in for a drink/food. We haven't been in here for quite sometime but found the place is under new management and it seemed so much better. The waitress Sophie who served us was really lovely and was attentive and made us feel very welcome. We opted to both have a Tuna sandwich with a side of chips and drinks. Perfect food with excellent drinks made our lunchtime complete. It was nice to see that the place had a number of customers as some pubs during the day can be quiet now. Anyway we had a great time and would certainly call back again we said. With that in mind we did call in again with friends on Tuesday evening 28 June. Five of us booked a table for 18:30. As it was a nice evening we sat outside until 19:00 as they were not that busy and finally settled down in the restaurant. We all chose very different Main meals and when they arrived they were simply superb and of the highest quality and presentation. Five empty plates is a great recommendations of the excellent meals we all had. To finish three of us had desserts and some had more drinks instead. What was impressive was the chef even came out himself to ensure the complete satisfaction of all our meals. Our waitress who was really lovely and so efficient was Tania. Our whole evening was just brilliant and we would certainly eat here again. It was such good value as with all our drinks and food our bill for five people was £127:25. Thank you again, we will be back as you are literally on our doorstep.

Sunday lunch just isnt what it used to be, today we took our in laws for lunch and boy was I disappointed. Kids fish fingers used to be lovely coujons but are now just burnt supermarket things which were burnt to a crisp and my 'Sirlion' roast dinner was now a grey grisly, fatty and over cooked piece of beef. Vegetables were pretty much the same. Front of house staff tried but you could see they had no help. Sadly I don't think we'll be back, shame it used to be a great.

I was pleasantly surprised at just how nice the food was! We ate here last night and I’ll definitely be returning. I had the salmon steak with noodles, the salmon was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The portions are generous and every meal on the table looked delicious. The range of gins is a gem about this place. Apparently it’s been taken over by new management so perhaps it’s better than it once was :)

The best pub in the UK, if not the world! Staff are great, beer, which is brewed on site, is fantastic, the food is good, honest pub food and the gardens are really great. During lockdown they provided takeaways and when restrictions lifted the garden came into its own. I've been coming here for 20+ years and it has never disappointed.

Phoned to make a booking On Thursday for Saturday lunch time gave name and contact number,. Arrived on Saturday only to be told there was no food as they had a gas leak on the Friday and the kitchen was out of action I said to the person behind the bar you could have let me know as we had traveled for over 2 hours to take my father out for lunch. He just shrugged his shoulders and made a comment to a couple of locals at the bar if this is the attitude that welcomes you glad we didn’t eat here

Been quite a few times over the past year and service and food has been really good. New menu tonight had 5 options only and prices gone up by at least 30% - £19 for a burger which our friends ordered and was a ridiculously small portion and TOTALLY overpriced. Kids as waiters who knew nothing about the new menu or answer questions. When it came to ordering desserts there was ONE option or ice cream…… Spoke to the Manager/Owner who was surly and unapologetic. It was an embarrassing night out with friends!

Visited the restaurant on Wednesday 26th August with my teenage daughter. Totally disorganised with 3 girls behind the bar and only 1 waitressing. Our drinks took so long to come after the waitress had taken my order that I went to the bar myself to get them. Not a huge selection of items on the menu so we both went for steak. 45 minutes later our meal finally arrived. All i can say is that what was on our plate did not resemble steak. It had been burnt to within an inch of its life and was completely tasteless. The waitress forgot our cutlery and so we waited another 5 minutes for that. The Six Bells has changed hands and all I can say is that it's in the wrong hands entirely.

My friends and I recently threw a baby shower in the function room at the back of the pub and it could not have been more perfect! The venue was just lovely and the room is so pretty as it is but looked ever better once we added our own decorations. But the staff could not have been more helpful! They were willing to help out with anything we asked and were constantly checking on us all and seeing if there was anything we needed. The Six Bells catered for us and we asked for an afternoon tea type set up which they were more than happy to arrange and the food was so so lovely. We vouldnt have chosen a better venue!

Visited six bells on many occasion always enjoyed the night. Had Sunday Dinner with friends food was fantastic, but the service was lacking, staff chatting behind bar and sitting down on phones we had no offer of pudding or any check back. I asked who the manager was pointed to a girl sitting on her phone. But again loved the Roast. Great job chefs.
