We go to the Holly bush quite often. Been there mostly for breakfast. Service is really slow and there isn't a friendly face of staff in sight. Last we went as a family for lunch with my mother in law who is 88 from London....More
Took drink order at bar and server disappeared - perhaps we should have taken note then.
Food satisfactory but no more - service improved during meal but couldn't get excited and overall a good evening with friends in an average environment with average standard of...More
A well kept pub with a generous beer garden, and a veranda out front. The decor is fairly generic but nicely done.
The menu is pretty standard and not all that adventurous, but it is well priced and plentiful. The food was good and came...More

Had a lovely lunch here the other day - it was a baking hot Monday and we only arrived just before they finished serving food so we weren't sure if it would be up to their usual standard but we needn't have worried.
We went to the Holly Bush for brunch on Father's Day. We sat outside next to a table who had just been served brunch. Went to order and were quite rudely told they would not serve us brunch as we had not booked and they...More
We visit this pub quite often and have always really liked it. However, yesterday we experienced an unacceptable scenario. Having had two pints that were served well under the top of the glass I asked for the third to be 'topped up' only to be...More
I love this place. Perfect for a long lazy Saturday in the pub reading the papers. Brunch, bloody Marys, good nosh, friendly staff. Decor is spot on - if this was London, you'd never get a table. And they have straw bales and blankets. Really...More
Arrived and loved the decor. Almost an old school hall and now shabby chic. Headed for the veranda and although very cute there were a number of tables not cleared. A great menu, food fresh and different, tuna steak, herb couscous and tzatziki. Was lovely....More
This is my local and I LOVE it! The food is consistently excellent, the service always good, friendly chilled staff so welcoming, the vibes, music, design and decor, choice of wines is second to none around here. Whether just drinking with a mate or large...More

Firstly, thanks for the questions!
In regards to the chips I'm not sure which style they sell but I know for sure that when I walk past the kitchen, the smell of the oil they use reminds me of the smell of the cafe at Birdworld.
Funny story this; Last time I visited the Birdworld cafe I was quite skeptical about eating the 'chicken' they were serving.
Why's this you may ask? Well, when I was at the back of the queue, the staff were telling customers that they'd run out of chicken, However 5 minutes later when it came to my order they'd put it back on. While this was going on my friend noticed that a couple of barn owls had gone missing from the neighboring cage. I'm sure it's just a coincidence but still...
I did contact Watchdog about it but never received a reply.
Perhaps they've got bigger chickens to fry, I mean fish haha!
Anyway back to the pub, the best looking fella there cannot be mentioned for legal reasons but I know for sure that he IS 18, despite his adolescent looks and snidey comments I receive from onlookers while I'm having a deep chat with him across the bar after a couple of cuba libres.
in regards to TV they unfortunately do not show the Eastenders omnibus or any television for that matter under the new ownership.
