I hate to complain but feel I need to leave an honest review. Went here with friends for my wife's birthday. We booked one of the garden pods, which we paid £45 extra for (in hindsight this really didnt seem worth it). There was a...big party in front of us and as the night went on it really did feel like we were an after thought for the staff.
Got to the pod, told lights weren't working so we went back to the bar for them to sort, fair enough. Went to order drinks, bluntly told by the barman we had to pay at a separate counter then get drinks. No one suggested we could just add drinks to our bill until we asked. Then the Pod was ready before we ordered drinks, so back we went and then ordered drinks. Half the drinks turned up which seemed to take a long time, then a much longer wait for the remaining drinks (3 beers).
Food was ok, nothing amazing, One of the mains was wrong, they did change it (and to be fair apologise) but it meant one person had to wait while all the other mains arrived. Would have been appreciated if the bill reflected this error! We waited a long time between courses, which if the food is good I don't mind waiting. Staff didn't seem that friendly, a smile wouldnt hurt. Topped off by the abrupt barman serving me my dessert as if it was a big inconvenience for him! For 6 people we paid about £337 (only I had a dessert), which for really good food (and service) is fair enough, but... food was pretty standard, staff not particularly friendly, not even when we paid! Would I go back, definitely not and I begrudged paying the service charge.More
