Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The overriding feeling in this place is one of complacency. We were barely acknowledged on arrival with male staff chatting amongst themselves. One young lady who was lovely eventually acknowledged us. The food was ok but nothing more than bog standard fare. Some of it...was ridiculously overpriced. One wafer thin slice of salmon measuring about 5 inches on an equally thin piece of bread was serves as a starter and cost £10 inc service. It was gone in 3 bites! A small portion of veg, which should really be included with the main course cost and extra £6. The ingredients probably cost less than 50p. Excluding them from main courses and obliging you to order them separately is just a money making exercise. Shame! There are so many better places in Wimbledon and this one is only for the gullible or clueless I’m afraid.More

We went to Al Forno at Kingston Upon Thames branch with my sister last Sunday. To begin with, the staff was very rude. The waiter who “welcomed us in” was so in rush that didn’t even give us a second to think where we want...to sit. Meanwhile a waitress was dragging a big chair in the middle of the restaurant and it was making a crazy noice. Later on we got the food. Our starter was not too bad. For main course we ordered fettuccine bolognese for both of us. However, they brought us spaghetti instead, I had to turn down the order and get what we ordered. The waiter didn’t even apologise but he took the order back kind of angry. Finally we got our pasta. The Pasta was made like the chef wanted to tell us “never come back here again”. The fettuccine were stick together and not soft enough. To conclude, we used to go often to this restaurant as we live just 2 minutes away, and quite frankly the staff is always cold and not very welcoming, but we decided to give it a last chance but we end up disappointed. I am making this review for the only reason that the owner deserves to know what kind of staff he has hired.More

Such a fantastic evening at Al Forno last night. My friend and I have always enjoyed coming to Al Forno and were worried as the last few times, the food did not hit the same level of quality we would always find in their food....Last night changed that for us completely. Our pasta was absolutely delicious and the pizza garlic bread was a fabulous starter. I had the spaghetti carbonara and my friend had the Fregola al Frutti di mare and we both agreed it was the best pasta we had in a long time. To top it off, we had a lovely conversation with Pietro, one of the servers. He told us about his life coming to England and his dream of opening a restaurant which made for a great end to our evening. For those looking for a good meal and wonderful service, you should give Al Forno a shot!More

Had no been here for around 15 years, so decided to check it out again. The staff are very friendly. The garlic bread and cheese is way to garlicky for me, (and I love garlic bread) but that’s just personal preference. The pasta was unreal...however. I had the spaghetti bolognese and it was one of the best I have had in quite some time. Pricing is fair. Place is clean and tidy.More

We had never been here before. I came here with the family and it takes you back to small bustiers or trattorias you’d find abroad. One part of the restaurant is like a conservatory of summer house , full of light, while the rest is...like a Swiss ski chalet. We had beer, very chilled and Italian. We had pizzas which are over-baked and tasted fresh z as nr fabulous. Try the Diavoka or gung-ho with chicken. They will not disappoint.More

I was so excited to come here after reading such lovely reviews, but my experience was only okay. The location in Kingston right across from the water so a really lovely location. The staff were friendly enough but kept forgetting things despite writing them down....We had drinks and puddings forgotten. One main course did not arrive as it had been left off…… My food was so disappointing. After waiting well over an hour I could not send it back. I have never been served pizza that is burned in most places on the bottom?! It van be burned in some places on-top, but the bottom of a pizza to be burned black is not okay. The rest of the food was okay. We were not in a rush but it took nearly four hours to have supper! It’s just too much. Sorry guys cut I was not at all impressed.More
