Terrible. Good service. But terrible food. Ordered the sea bass and after trying a little bit, it was raw inside. Asked for them to recook, it came back burnt on the outside but still raw on the inside. Severe lack of regard from the kitchen....Come back home and between writing this and the toilet, haven’t stopped violently throwing up. Been here a good few times, as early as 2016. This is one of my favourite restaurants in Kingston. Great value for money in terms of portions and the food is full of flavour! I have something different each time but the Ghormeh sabzi is...just superb. If you're a fan of traditional Persian cuisine, this isn't very far off the mark, it's worth the visit. Bonus is you get a great view of the river if you can get a seat in their outer area.More

Highly Disappointing Experience My party and I visited Narenj Restaurant last night, and I'm afraid I must share the unfortunate experience we had. It is rare that I feel compelled to write a review, especially a negative one, but in this case, the impact of...the situation necessitates it. First and foremost, all four of us ended up with food poisoning. After consuming our meals, we were inflicted with severe nausea and vomiting that has persisted until the present time. As frequent diners, we are all certain that the sickness we've experienced has been a direct result of the food we consumed at Narenj. Upon recognizing our condition, we reached out to the restaurant to report our situation and were met with a complete lack of concern or empathy. We were abruptly hung up on, which we found highly impolite and inappropriate. This is not the level of customer service one would expect from any establishment, let alone a restaurant where food safety is paramount. In light of these incidents, I can't help but question the overall hygiene standards and customer service quality at Narenj Restaurant. I urge future patrons to exercise caution when considering dining here. As for my party and me, we will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this establishment based on our unfortunate experience. One thing I've learned from this is the importance of a restaurant's transparency and accountability towards its customers, two qualities Narenj Restaurant seems to lack, at least from our experience. Fabulous food , friendly staff and great views over the Thames. Smoked aubergine starter- best ever, salad Olivieh delicious, kebabs so succulent. Highly recommended

A lovely relaxing long lunch with the doors open onto the river. The food was simple but excellently cooked and yummy. Very reasonably priced. But most of all the service was genuinely welcoming and charming . A lovely change from fancy overpriced restaurants. Met a...woman from Iran the other day who knew this restaurant and went there.More

Beautiful riverside setting at the back of the Restaurant which also has an upstairs dining room. Service was not fast but the food was very tasty once it arrived and we were plied with fresh bread and dips whilst we waited

I recently went to Narenj with a group of wel- travelled friends, some of whom had been to Iran. We were delighted by the greeting of the staff, the table (with a view straight over the Thames), and, especially, the food. The waiter was able...to explain and describe, with knowledge and enthusiasm, the particular Irani nature of the food. We were very satisfied by the results and would all come again!More

We came here to celebrate my dad’s birthday. The staff were friendly and attentive, despite being really busy. The food was delicious, everyone enjoyed their meal. We will definitely return.

Today we were in Kingston for a shopping trip and afterwards a meal, we hadn’t decided where we would go so just started checking out what was on offer. We passed many chain restaurants that didn’t inspire us at all, then I noticed Narenj. Never...eaten Persian food but love anything Mediterranean so we walked in. Immediately we were greeted warmly by our server Neda who showed us to a table by a window overlooking the Thames, lovely. I asked for a non alcoholic beer and Neda brought me a chilled bottle of Istak a malt beverage with a hint of lemon, it was really nice! We chose a sharing main that consisted of skewered lamb, chicken and minced lamb, salad, rice, flat bread and roasted tomatoes. This was so lovely, the meats were marinated and tender, all cooked over charcoal that makes such a difference as it’s the authentic way to cook this type of food adding a wonderful flavour. For dessert we chose a Persian pistachio and chocolate cake and Persian ice cream made with pistachios, rose water and saffron all rounded off with a perfect cup of Persian coffee. This was such an unexpected pleasure on all levels, we are definitely coming back and bringing friends and family. If you enjoy the flavours of the Mediterranean and appreciate authenticity served food with warm hospitality you will fall in love with Narenj. I had the chicken on the bone with Persian bread. It was very disappointing. Served as just bread, chicken wings, a tomato and a chilli. The dish was very dry, no yoghurt or other accompaniments. I would have been better going to the local kebab...shop. I won’t be returning.More
