Elegant Chinese Restaurant in Leatherhead with beautiful interior decor and extensive exclusive menu containing unique and creative dishes of Chinese food. Even food that is not on our menu, but that you've had elsewhere, we can try to accomodate and attempt to cook if you let us know. 10% off any orders cash paid on collection.Friendly staff and wide delivery radius acceptance. The restaurant has a potential capacity of a 100 person seating spanning over 20+ tables. Under recent new strict management - food and service has undergone a complete overhaul and vast improvements have been made.

Excellent Chinese Restaurant.

If you want excellent Chinese food and fantastic value, then this restaurant is for you. Being just on the edge of town, there’s plenty of parking, a very warm welcome, superb food, great value and all in a converted 15th century pub. We usually go in a small group, but they have kindly catered for 14 of us in the past. Nothing is too much trouble. Hmm! Getting hungry just thinking about it.

Lovely dinner in an elegant setting

We are planning to book the restaurant for a large family gathering, so thought we would try it out anonymously before making a booking. Staff were very friendly, food great and the onsite parking made the visit very convenient. Prices are very reasonable too. It cost us about £65 for two people, 4 courses, plus alcohol. Very good value. The prawn toast was especially good, Hot and Sour soup not quite as spicy as I am used to, but still good. Looking forward to our next visit.

Good Chinese food

On a Sunday they have an all you can eat buffet. On arrival you pick a range of starters and mains from a menu, and these are brought out freshly cooked to order. If you have a larger group then you can pick a wide range of food to try. Well cooked and presented with some new food as well as old favourites to try. Small amount of car parking. Manager was very friendly.

Outstanding food

This restaurant has a lovely friendly vibe to it. The staff are very welcoming and Ivan the manager makes a point of popping over to say hello. The service here is first class and the food is simply outstanding. Every dish, from starters and main to desert was simply excellent. The egg fried rice could be eaten on its own as a meal - thats the quality you are looking at. I cannot rate this restaurant highly enough and I cannot think of a better Chinese restaurant in the area. Will certainly return.

Very disappointed, greasy and bland

First takeaway order from Zen Garden. Very disappointed, two words to sum it up, greasy and tasteless. Vegetable spring rolls just stodgy, no vegetables in sight. All main courses just a bland greasy mush.

Fantastic club celebration dinner

This is the second year we have used this great venue for a badminton club dinner and it didn’t disappoint. We had sole use and were given a warm welcome by the lovely staff , the food was delicious and plenty of it , all the favourites ; mixed starters, crispy duck, sizzling beef etc and toffee bananas / apples etc to finish . All for a good price . We will certainly be going there again. Thank you .

The food was delicious, I loved the Hong Kong style sweet and sour chicken. Great service, especially from a young waiter named Tony who was especially polite. Great experience

Lovely food and great service

I ate here with my parents and partner, celebrating my mums birthday and we all enjoyed the evening. The food was lovely, all cooked well and all had a nice taste/flavour. The prawn crackers and chilli dip on the table when you arrive was a nice touch and allowed us to wet our taste buds as we decided what we were going to order. The staff were very attentive and friendly, making the experience overall very pleasurable and it was lovely to see that it was fairly busy, which is always a good sign. I would definitely recommend the Zen Garden to friends and family - thank you for a great evening.

Great meal and service

Visited early on a Monday evening as a solo diner, so was the only person eating in the restaurant. Staff were just the right level of attentive - checking in without interrputing too often. I chose this restaurant when staying nearby for work as the website highlighted their vegan options - much appreciated! Highlighting them on the menu would be helpful, but I made do with refererring to the website before placing my order. The kitchen happily veganised a fried rice to accompany my other dishes, which were all hot, well seasoned and very tasty. The tofu was a little bit oily once cooled, but that's often the way! I would recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.

Dry, hard duck and gloopy tasteless curry

Ordered takeaway, was not impressed. Crispy duck was mostly fat, with some extremely hard bits of dry duck meat. Rest of the order was OK, although the curry was gloopy and didn't taste of much. One thing I will say is that the delivery was VERY fast - almost too fast to be honest, like the food was just sat there keeping warm - perhaps that's why the duck was so dry? Would not recommend.

Gloopy and Tasteless

Decided to take a trip to Zen as we moved away years ago and happened to be in the area. We were so looking forward to a good meal. People still very friendly however food was gloopy and tasteless. Complained and they said it was fresh food and maybe it was our tastebuds. I think it is possibly their combination of potato starch and msg! If you closed your eye you wouldn’t know what you were eating!! Paid for drinks and duck starter and left. Very disappointing

Awful!

Absolutely awful ! Firstly was told the wait was 90 mins . Was happy to accept considering being new years eve ... bit pricey for what we ordered but but sweapt that aside as we was think ohh will be nice treat ... 2 and a half hours later dinner arrives cold and not even cook properply . Chow mein was dry no sauce with it at all we sat and thought ok, its not that we are used to but fine .. then onto the honey ribs they were tiny and no meat on them at all . We spent 50 pounds on 4 dishes and threw mostly everything in the bin Im not snobby when it comes to food i would generally eat everything but im so disappointed as we have eaten here before and it had been wonderful previously

Excellent as always

Had another excellent meal at the resturant. Felt very safe as they are still observing covid recommendations. I thought it was reasonably priced and every dish was full of flavour. Biggest prawns I've seen in a dish for a long time. Looking forward to our next visit already!

Very poor experience overall.

Food wasn't bad, but really wasn't anything special. Certainly not for the money. However, the service was absolutely appalling. They expect you to fill in a written form, listing your drinks, starters, mains, and deserts, before they serve you anything ! Waiter was abrupt and borderline rude, and made out that everyone did the same, unfortunately, (despite covid) we have dined out a number of times and have never had this 'procedure' before. We pulled him up early on in the evening and told him that this was pretty awful, and the service improved after that, but its definitely one place to avoid.

Oriental restaurant

Amazing lovely tasty food. I was there tonight with a friend. We looked at the food options on a offered menu and then we ordered some Asian food to bring home in order to eat. After a really long time not eating Chinese food I have sorely missed my trips to a nice Oriental restaurant. The entire place is clean and spacious. Five out of five stars. I will return here in the future. Recommended. I love eating Oriental cuisine. Seriously.
