We’ve been customers for over 10 years. We placed an order and after waiting over an hour (it said 45 mins) I called and was told “we are extremely busy, it will be 45 mins (another), or we could collect on 30 mins!!! I said...this was not acceptable. All he said was “do you want a refund”. No apologies. We supported all through lock down even though orders were incorrect when delivered. WILL DEFINITELY NOT ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.More

Such a disappointing visit. I was part of a group of 15 and we had arranged to have the £30 set menu. What poor value this was. Poppadoms aren’t included - yep, £30 doesn’t even buy a poppadom each! We did complain about this and...eventually we’re given some (strictly one each only though!). Starters were minimal - one veggie plate and one meat plate per 4 people. But each plate only had 2 of each item, eg 2 bhajis, 2 samosas so not enough for each of us. Mains were a further disappointment. They were all incredibly bland with no spice at all. The chicken tikka masala looked good but was tasteless. The lamb dish was advertised as being cooked with “fiery hot spices” and the prawn dish as a “medium spiced dish”. This was not correct at all. The side dishes were ok, as was the rice and naan. We were offered top ups but the dishes were so tasteless that most people declined. All in all a great disappointment given the price tag (which didn’t include dessert or drinks either). Service was also poor. Such a shame.More

Thank you for your review , the set menu was agreed with your party host and free top ups were served to several guests . Unfortunately its not viable to include drinks and desserts in the agreed price .

We booked via the phone and an email rapidly confirmed the booking. On arrival the friendly staff showed us how to use the temperature check, and we were shown to our table. The service was attentive without being intrusive. The place was busy but not...crammed, and the ambience was very pleasant. Food arrived promptly and was exceptionally tasty. The portions are generous and we couldn't actually finish the meal which was a shame as it was lovely. The wine was excellent and reasonably priced. The Cobra beer was great but at £11.95 somewhat overpriced. Overall i would certainly recommend this restaurant for the nice ambience, friendly and attentive service and great tasting food. Will certainly return.More

Unfriendly welcome. Pushy on the order - trying to persuade us to order more than we needed. The waiter messed up the order Dopiaza instead of Dhansak. He gave the impression that it was my fault rather than theirs, when it was clearly their error....It meant our food arrived in two stages which was a shame. Food was consistently good. No grumbles there. But service was complacentMore

What started out as promising soon descended into complete and utter failure on behalf of the restaurant. Nice venue,, good Covid precautions. Host pleasant. Food dire, tasteless and overpriced. Two miniscule over cooked and tasteless lamb samosas that they could have got out of a...supermarket at discounted price. Cost £4.95, Three popadums and some suspect dips again overpriced.. Vegetable curry... indescribably awful..looked like left over vegetables .£12.00 Nothing looked freshly made. I will have to be dragged back to this restaurant AND they will have to pay me!More

We’ve been using five rivers as I choice of takeaway curries during lockdown and felt it was time to go for a decent meal in person. While the restaurant is very pleasant it is also very quiet, you can decide for yourself if you like...that. Ordering a table on their website is very easy. They have a very good menu, we choose vegetable Rajasthani and salmon shashlick. Plus a few extras. The food was excellent, and prices very reasonable. Just like their takeaway menu. We have a lovely evening and meal and will be going back again soon.More

Me and my other half have eaten from many different curry houses so know that our go to dishes vary from place to place but this was without doubt the worst chicken tikka masala I’ve ever had. The sauce tasted like someone had poured a...gallon of salt in it. The chicken tikka starter was not fresh and tasted really rubbery. It’s unlikely we’ll order from here again. Maybe it was just a one off but considering we weren’t impressed by any of our food, I fear it just isn’t a good place to order from (for us at least) I trust that the owners read this and take into consideration so future customers aren’t disappointed like usMore

A total waste of money. This restaurant used to be great but it must have changed hands. The person who took my order was rude and ended the call as quick as he could. I had to pay cash on delivery. Had no receipt upon...delivery or conformation of order. The food was awful, watery, overpriced and tasteless. This place is trading on a good name and will ruin it. Avoid.More

I'm currently away on a work training course and living on takeaway food, why did I not find this little gem sooner! I collected as I'm not far and a little walk was needed. Really friendly and kind staff, and the food was delicious! I...don't usually do reviews either, but thought I'd share some good news this year. Would definitely go again!More

Ordered a home delivery, and amazingly it arrived 25 minutes early (so we weren't ready for it). Despite being early it was stone cold, and also had a couple of items missing. Something obviously not working very well from an organisational front at the restaurant....Other than being cold the food was reasonably tasty but had obviously been cooked some time earlier so was not ideal. Not a very good experience overall I'm afraid, especially given the premium prices (happy to pay a premium for excellence, but not for a sub-standard food/service like we just received.More
