Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After having driven 100 miles from Bournemouth we stopped at the Plough Leatherhead for lunch . Their speciality was Thai food and it was worth the journey . A mixed starter of 5 Thai snacks for each of us , cooked to perfection , tasty...and fresh . Followed with Beef Panang and sweet and sour chicken Pad Prean . Wonderful taste and good size portions. The staff were absolutely superb , never hovering but always there when required . The premises were clean and bright and I must mention that the WC’s were the best I have seen in a pub for along time . Would I go there again , distance restricting but if I was to travel to Surrey or London I would endeavour to go via the Plough . Well, done all at the Plough we really enjoyed our visit to you .More

Difficult one this but I opted for a mediocre review. Positives…..the food. Absolutely great, plenty of choices, great portion sizes and everything was really flavoursome. From the pad Thai to the seabsss, simple to more complex Thai dishes were all great, absolutely no complaints in...the slightest. Now the downside, and it really was a little much for us all. We were a part of four on a Saturday night. We were given a table in the worse position in the restaurant (someone has to sit there I appreciate but I would rather it wasn’t me!). We were right next to where the food came out and where there was some sort of takeaway area (could be wrong but a few people were collecting food in bags and shooting off). We were bashed and banged into far too often. The thing that wound us up the most was the table size. We were sat on pretty much a table for two. When the mains came out, there simply wasn’t enough space on the surface. Not because we were gluttons and ordered too much but because just had such little surface area to use. What made it more annoying was that two sets of couples were on far bigger tables and it just made absolutely no sense to seat us that way. We sat down promptly at 8.00pm and by 9.50 we were very aware that we were being urged to leave. No seeing if we wanted desert, that was never an option, we got the hint and actually said “do you want us to leave?”. We got a pleasant smile, a yes please and were handed our already printed out bill. It was a Saturday night at 9.50! Ridiculous! Big shame, I really think the food is great but unless you want an early dinner or a quiet evening with an early bedtime, I’m not sure this is the place for you.More

Great night, meal and drinks out, not been here for a while. The Thai dishes are so good, I had a green curry and keep thinking of it. Nice place, decent staff and the bill isn’t too shocking. Especially good idea with the non alcoholic...cocktails, the driver doesn’t feel left out !More

Absolute gem of a pub - stylish, good choice of drinks and all reasonably priced. But the star of the show is the Thai food. Absolutely delicious and expertly cooked and presented. Meat, fish and veg dishes all equally tasty. Lovely friendly service too. And...a bustling almost full atmosphere on a Monday night, always a marker of a high quality place. Bravo.More

Great food, but outstanding cocktails - best in absolutely ages! Barman AJ is truly gifted! We all had the raspberry & rhubarb gin (with a hint of herbs, like a Pimm's - really clever!), then designated driver had non-alcoholic gin with rhubarb & ginger (even...nicer!!), while others indulged in espresso martinis with salted caramel - not too sweet, slightly smoky (!), off-the-scale gorgeous!!! Well done AJ - we'll be back!More
