The food was ok. But I had ordered a vegetarian dish, Tau Hu Phad Prik Gaeng, and it had no baby aubergines in it. They then cheekily(?) gave us an extra dish during the mains we didn't order but charged us for it, Thod mum...goong. At first, we thought it was part of the mains we had ordered so we ate it. Very poor quality. I ordered prawn toast for a starter which had virtually no prawn inside it and then fried rice with king prawns which turned up with 5 prawns inside it. I eat Thai food every week of the year and this is the...poorest value for meal I have ever had. I was asked if everything was OK and I explained the above and was told "thank you for the feedback" Disgraceful service and quality of food and value for money. This is an excellent Thai restaurant with lovely staff and an attentive manager. We have been going to Number One Thai for years and it never disappoints. The menu has great variety and the dishes are all full of authentic Thai taste.

Everything was good until we get the bill. I saw them charging us £2 for chilli in fish sauce. Normally, all the other thai restaurants i go to offer this as a complimentary sauce and if they were going to charge me they should have...told me. The server then asked the manager and told me we should pay. Then the manager came and told me she'd knock off £2 from the bill if i didn't order it. Then she started telling me this sauce is never free anywhere else and they all charge. I said i was in another thai restaurant last weekend and they didn't charge..? Then she demanded i told her the name of the restaurant. When i told her the name and location of this other one, she said "they will charge you service fees etc" I said you are charging service fee plus £2 for the sauce? Then she told me nothing is free because we are in economic crisis and they buy everything so i shouldn't expect to get things for free....! This part is really unnecessary and irrelevant. Even if that's what she thought, I have never met any hospitality staff arguing with the customer for the sake of arguing and tried to teach economics. While we enjoyed the food and the atmosphere in the restaurant and all the other staff were nice, what she did completely ruined my dinner and my evening. Me and my friend left the restaurant feeling so uneasy.More

The food is characterised by fresh, spicy, genuine flavours and high quality ingredients. The owners and staff are lovely and the restaurant’s jolly atmosphere makes you want to stay all evening

Amazing food, explosion of flavour in my mouth. Has just became my new favourite restaurant. Can’t wait to return to this amazing little restaurant.

Revisited the restaurant on our second trip to Sutton based on a great previous experience and we were pleased to find the food as good as it was during our first visit. Would definitely recommend the food here

Delicious food, friendly service. Best meal we’ve had in Sutton on this trip. Every dish we had was full of flavour, portions were generous. Decent wines as well.
