Fantastic family run restaurant, first time visiting for me, family have visited several times and came highly recommended. Couldn't fault a thing. Even the music was fantastic. Best ever chip shop in the north east! Have visited here multiple times with family and friends and each time have received excellent food and service! Family run chippy and owner Shaz always checks to make sure food is great and that we are happy....The fish and chips is the best one in South Shields, also love their burger and my favourite - the fish cake. I always love going to Frydays, the staff are wonderful and always make an effort to have a chat/get to know regulars. A lovely family run business. As for the food, I come with friends, and with family and it’s our go to fish and...chip shop. The peri peri burger and the peri peri chicken. The chips portions are always so big so I ask for them to put less. I love the range of food in the menu. Value for money on the price too.More
There's a lot of fish and chip shops in South Shields but Frydays is the most welcoming restaurant I've ever been to. The service is so friendly, the food is amazing, it's hard to choose from there extensive menu. It's definitely a must place to...visit. You can only give it a try but you'll be back .🙂More

We were transitioning from the Metro to ferry which required passing Frydays. So glad we stopped. Chips and fish (cod bites) perfectly cooked and they even threw in some scraps. Quick and pleasant service from the staff.

Fridays is Next to the metro exchange in South Shields. There is seating indoors and outdoors and serves not just fish and chips. For this visit we just wanted to try the chips as we’d heard they were lovely. We chose a medium size, enough...to share tray. They were lovely. Next time I fancy the chippy breakfast!More
Today was the second time I have eaten here . The whitest freshes fish I have ever eaten cooked to perfection. Huge portions , the mushy peas , tartare sauce ,bread and butter and lovely coffee just how I like it made . The owner...is a total delight as are her friendly staff . At work on a Sunday and decided to treat ourselves to fish bites and chips. Staff were so friendly and the food was amazing. Large portion sizes and plenty of choice. Wouldn’t go anywhere else for fish

Best cod bites and chips weve had for a long time, fish was lovely white chunky bits and the chips were chunky and delicious.
