My first visit since the overhaul. The food was superb. Not any of the old sauces waiting for spices to be added here. It was freshly made and very tasty. Built in the late 1800's and one mile long the views from here either towards land or out to sea are great The rail lines were used by a small train and steam crane during construction of the pier

Visited here with our 11 year old and 4 year old. Lovely beach area and funfair. Lovely little park over the road with a lake and railway for a trip around the perimeter of the park. There is also a skate park and loads to do for the children. Would definitely recommend for families with young children/teenagers!

South Shields has the most gorgeous beach, better than any in Devon or Cornwall. Great for sandcastle a, swimming and walking along the pier. There's lots of places to eat, coastal walks, lovely parks and great people.
