I went to the Dun Cow on Saturday the 14th. Initially we booked a table but the manager couldn't find it but she helped us out by giving us an empty table. We where a party of three, we ordered a beef burger with an add on side salad, hunters chicken with mini potatoes instead of the chips and a... More

The place: Actually a really interesting pub building. Lots of rooms and nooks and crannies. Nice warm fire. Had been before for lunch and a beer and it was ok. The service: Hmmmmm. The young lady serving us was very friendly and was working very hard but because her manager(s) clearly have no idea how to run a place she... More

This used to be a very good example of the Vintage Inn chain of premium pubs. It used to be one of our regular eating places as we usually have good food and service at all the Vintage Inns we have visited. There are a number of comfortable dining areas with very pleasant wood fires in the winter but we... More

Took 2 hours to get a round of drinks and a main course and coffee. Waited an age for the drinks to be served , the main course the same. I asked for someone to clear the table after a wait of half an hour but no one came so the plates were put on an empty table. A manager... More

I've passed the Dun Cow many times but this was my first visit. The menu was different and there was a good choice. The food was excellent. The staff was attentive and pleasant. The surroundings were pleasant. All in all this was a great experience. I would definitely go back.

Visited for a quick lunch with parents on travels elsewhere and was surprised at how big the place was. It has a lovely inviting decor and staff seated us quickly and easily during a busy lunch service. Service was quick and good and food was nice but can't say it is anything that will stand out or make me return... More

Just returned from this hotel, very disappointing meal, my starter of prawn and lobster was very adverange, not worth the £5.95 ,my husand's. Garlic mushrooms was a much better option.my main course of smoked haddock fish cake was totally inedible,so dried up I couldn't eat it, I sent it back and the replacement was better, but nothing special. The good... More

I had high expectations of this place after talking to a few colleagues at work (I work in food and hotel management) and they said that the food was lovely and well cooked. All I can say is that I was very disappointed- in both food and service. I may be picky as this is my job on a day... More

Whilst visiting elderly relatives in the village we stopped here for lunch. It was, as would be expected, very busy. Our waitress Katie was very charming and helpful and brought our drinks and took our order. Clearly because they were so busy the kitchen must have been under pressure. I had mushroom soup which was OK but seemed to taste... More
