Crossed Khukris is a warm and welcoming family run restaurant serving mouthwatering Nepalese cuisine at an affordable price, whilst not sacrificing on quality. Winner of the Godiva Gold award 2008 and 2010, we are voted as one of the best restaurant in Coventry and Warwickshire. Fantastic place, fantastic food

As usual, moans first - parking can be awkward on your first visit - nothing to do with the restaurant but its the only thing i can think of. What an establishment this is. If you were unsure about the Gurkha link before you went in you'll be certain once inside, the place is decorated with everything Gurkha, walls, place mats, beer, plates and the staff wear tradition dress, staff are very friendly and greet you with a smile as soon as you walk in, unsurprisingly it can get busy so its advisable to book, and although not the cheapest place to eat you get what you pay for. My wife and I had the Gurkha Thali for two, 2 poppadoms with the relish tray to start, then 6 Momo's and 2 Samosa's, easily split between the two of us, delicious. Then we had a lamb curry and a chicken curry, which we could choose as being mild or hot, a plate of boiled rice and a naan (we had a garlic naan). How you have your curry and how you split the rice and naan is up to you, you can always order extra if you wish, we had a plate of chips to go with ours and we were both full having devoured it, and again it was delicious. Brilliant place to go for a special meal.

Fantastic birthday meal!

We have been to this restaurant several times, and order takeaway regularly. Whether you have takeaway or dine in, you are assured of a friendly and warm welcome, excellent service and delicious food at really good prices. This visit was for my birthday, and it was a lovely way to start the evening! Thank you to all the team for another fabulous experience with you. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

Our second visit Wow, this place rocks. We went with two friends, as always, the staff are excellent, very polite and friendly, the owner has an enduring smile and a personality to match. The food was excellent, all 4 of our group enjoyed a memorable meal. Interestingly this restaurant is busy even on a cold and damp Thursday evening, that tell you loads. Oh yes, I had the chilli sausage as a starter and the Nepali beef, which melted faster than butter. Well done, thoroughly enjoyed the food, the generosity of the staff and the ever-smiling owner. धन्यवाद

Another great visit, food as good as ever!!

It's been a year or so since we have been here, but in reality very little has changed. Lovely staff, good atmosphere and amazing food. There were 10 of us and service was very good, never felt rushed at any stage, and it gave us chance to enjoy our catch up with family from around the country. Between us, we must have had most things on the menu, and it was all great. My Gurkha Beef curry was exceptional, as were the wife's spiced lamb chops. Had a really good night, and this restaurant certainly helped make it so👍👍

Crossed Khukris well worth a visit

Having only eaten Indian food I didn’t know what to expect, but I have discovered Nepalis cuisine I won’t go back. The food was excellent a lot lighter and more flavoursome than your typical Indian restaurant. The staff were attentive polite and very friendly, as for the owner he is still every inch a Ghurka Sgt Major. Definitely visit again but will bring friends next time.

Wow! 19.11.22 Birthday meal.

Warm & friendly welcome from the staff and the food is amazing. We booked a table and we're glad that we had as there was a steady stream of people coming in to eat and they were also busy with takeaways. Starters: meat momo x1 Mains: sizzling lamb chops (no. 38 without sauce, with chips!); beef pahdi (no. 39 mild with rice); chefs special prawn (no. 46, with rice). Drinks: cider x2 (£3.60); large glass wine (£5.10). Meals were hot & absolutely gorgeous. I could definitely have had a hot beef pahadi, but I'll have that next next time, as we'll definitely be returning.

I had the dumplings which were average, could have been cooked another 30 seconds, they were slightly undercooked and the presentation needs to be worked on. Lazy large strips of lettuce and a dip. Then for my main I ordered the lamb chop sizzler from the signature menu. "Lamb marinated in youghurt, mint and herbs. Lightly coated with fresh curry sauce and coriander". Well, I got 3 plain skinny lamb chops that were from the starter menu. No seasoning or coriander in sight either. Served on a plate of standard veg. On mentioning this to the staff, they brought me a large pot of curry sauce with tasted off!? No extra lamb was offered or an alternative to make it up for a main meal. It was a nice gesture of them not to charge me, but I left hungry. I won't be back. Needs a major refurb. 2 mirrors in the ladies, that are fine if you're above 5ft 10. Really disappointing. If they can't provide what's on the menu, then take it off!

Due to covid restrictions we had to order a takeaway from this restaurant. We ordered from the Uber Eats app and requested that our order was delivered between the hours of 19:30 & 20:00. The order process was easy and our food arrived just before half seven (slightly early). Quite often with home delivered food, the temperature of the food can sometimes be cold. However the takeout was far from cold. It was piping hot and clearly had just been made. The foot itself was esquisite! So very tasty and really decent portion sizes. It was not greasy and was just truly amazing. Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you!

Amazing food in Nuneaton.

I was staying at the Hilton hotel and this place is about 50m away so looked a good option. I was alone and they fitted me in, food was amazing (I had a madras which was hot but tasty), service was great and portion sizes really generous. If I’m in Nuneaton again this will definitely be where I’m eating. Oh and it cost me less than a burger and pint at the hotel!

Been looking forward to dining here for some time.. Right the slightly negatives… The interior does look a bit tired. The other bits. The restaurant food is simply brilliant. The waitress was charming and efficient. They offer free poppadum’s and chutney. Brilliant idea, one other restaurants should follow.. We both have the momo, one meat one veg, very nice, similar to wortip in Chinese cuisine. Now I had the Nepal Beef, it was stunning the meat was ever so tender and my partner had a salmon dish, both with a nan (roti) and rice. Bothe were very well cooked and very tasty.. A very enjoyable experience..

Delivered to me

I decided that I'd had my fill of the hotel food where I was staying so decided to order a curry on a certain delivery site and this restaurant popped up. We'll what can I say it was delivered on time and came with a freebee and we all love those. But even without that I will say whole heartedly it was an absolute excellent curry and very reasonable for the price 👍

Hidden gem

If you have ever wondered how the perfect food taste like and would like to try Nepal's traditional cuisine don't hesitate but go straight to Crossed Khukris Gurkha Restaurant. You will also get the nicest and the sweetest service from the staff. Don't think twice. Just go and order your food. Simply anything. Everything will be cooked to perfection. Definitely will visit again.

Takeaway as good as dining in

This was our first experience of the take away / delivery service. Happy accident having forgotten to make a reservation for a party of 7 on a Saturday night we opted to order a takeaway. Ordered the set menu for 6 and our request to exchange a dish was very kindly accommodated with no problem at all. We were told at the time of ordering it would be around 80 minutes and it arrived on time, piping hot and every bit as delicious as our previous experiences eating in the restaurant.

Had a fantastic takeaway meal

We have been to the Crossed Khurka in the past & it was top notch, returned after Covid restrictions were eased & we were able to travel from Wales to visit family. We had a fantastic takeaway meal, thoughourly enjoyed every bit. The staff were welcoming & friendly whilst we waited for our order to be prepared, also they were adhering to a 2meter distance despite having only a 1 meter restriction in England, to which I was very impressed to see. I would highly recommend anyone give the Khurka a go if their in that area, my only regret is that we don't have a Khurka restaurant where we live... thanx to all the staff & we look forward to returning on our next visit down to the Midlands.
