Called in on spec after walking locally & needing a good warm meal. The Sunday Lunch was superb, great Beef & fresh vegetables including tremendous Cauliflower Cheese. We all cleared the plates although it took a while! Don't let the outside or rather dark lounge put you off, the food will make up for it & great value as well

We visited on spec for some lunch. We walked in just before 2pm it was empty so was unsure. We asked if they were serving. Yes in the other side of the bar. We were offered Beef Pork or Lamb. We a ordered the beef. However no beef left so we had 1 pork and 1 lamb. It came promptly... More

Friendly staff greeted us and provided us with great service throughout our visit. I had mushroom stroganoff with chips and garlic bread, Although I could have had rice if I had wanted and my partner had the steak and ale pie with chips and peas.. Both meals were served piping hot and the presentation was lovely. The portions were huge,... More

The family that took over the pub 6 months ago and were turning the pub around have gone. Getting it back to a friendly country pub with good Sunday lunches and a good atmosphere. Rumours if true is the brewery put the rent up and forced them out. Why don't the brewery just sell the pub to developers and have... More

Whilst visiting friends today we thought we would visit the local after hearing new owners had taken over. Previously very dirty & rundown. Wasn't expecting much but we were extremely surprised, it's been decorated, cleaned & looked spotless & had a really cosy feel. The family running it were lovely & what they have done to it has bought it... More

This friendly pub is on a village green on the outskirts of Nuneaton in a semi rural location. Clientele will often include people who are traveling on barges on the canal that is about 1/2 mile away. Clean pub with limited real ale selection and the usual other drinks. The menu will suite those who like quality touches like hand... More

This used to be my local and I went in here for the first time in a while. This place is not even a shadow of what it used to be. Only 4 customers on New Years eve. 2 of which were drunk and incapable at 8pm and shouldn't have been served. I was deliberately short changed which is unforgivable... More

Went for sunday lunch with my husband and daughter. Free homemade soup and bread given before the roast dinner. Huge portions of everything. Everything was fresh and homemade it really was delicious. Then the puds came out and they were homemade too. Choc orange fudge cake was divine and we weren't charged for my daughters little portion of apple crumble.... More

I went here for Fathers Day lunch, all together there were eight of us. Unfortunately the table was not designed for eight people to sit at it, so it was rather cramped. The staff were very pleasant, if a little disorganised. The food was lovely, the pudding was certainly home made and tasted delicious. Apparently this pub has recently been... More
