We visit here regularly and have felt in the past this place gets a bad rep but this last visit was quite disappointing. In particular the service. Inexperienced waiting staff made it a real slog to enjoy our meals. Very slow to bring sauces or extra gravy (gor the "bottomless" gravy offered with roasts - we'd nearly finished by the... More

Service is appalling. Waiting times are totally excessive both for ordering and delivery of food. Tries to pack in too many people with insufficient staffing levels.

How long is it reasonable to wait for a meal to arrive. We reserved a table at 6 and had the main course at 7.30. The server was rude and food very average. So, after arriving, table wasn't laid up and we had to ask for cutlery. We were advised several items were no longer on the menu. Drinks arrived... More

We hadn't been to The Oystercatcher for a few years - when it was very good incidentally, - but having looked at the very inviting menu online, we thought we'd give it a try again on a hot Friday evening recently when family were visiting from Newcastle. Well what a big disappointment! The lovely waitress Bonnie was very friendly and... More

Have been to Oyster catch many times so took my family after lovely day at Arundel Castle. Although the food was good for the price the service was not. First they brought one to many starters which were then added to bill at end, our main meal arrived but starter plates had not been cleared even though we waited longer... More

I have been to the Oystercatcher a few times when visiting family and the quality of food seems to have deteriorated since my last visit. We regularly visit the same chain in Berkshire and the food always comes piping hot and really tasty but I am afraid it was all rather average at the Oystercatcher. We ordered Lamb Duos -... More

Nice setting pleasnt waitress. Such a shame the length of time to wait for your food and the poor quality of some dishes. salt and pepper calamari was well over cooked. As for my Caeser saled with bacon lardons, anchovies and hard cheese with grilled chicken as an extra. And garlic flatbread. Was very poor indeed. The Garlic flatbread was... More
