Was staying in the area and thought we would give it a try one evening. Food was of a very high standard in a friendly pub environment. Fairly extensive menu so should be something for everyone.

We visited mid week lunchtime in October. Quiet in pub but not deserted. Cheerful welcome and no issue about our hiking boots. Drinks offered as we came into bar and order for food taken at table. Quick and efficient. I had a rare cold roast beef with bubble and squeak which was unusual and delicious. husband had half pounder burger... More

Been here twice for lunch after walks. Good range of beers and a wide menu. Food has been excellent - particularly the port cassoulet and salade nicoise. Nice garden. Also worth visiting the village shop next door.

I've been a few times to this pub over the last couple of years having had great food but yesterday took family for a meal. We were horribly disappointed. The food was just about OK but I paid £15 for a few bits of crispy duck on lettuce with a few bits of cucumber. Nothing else...not even a tomato! The... More

If I could have given a 'ten', I would have! Visited Petworth House earlier on in the day and checked out The Hollist Arms on TA as a possible place to have lunch, as the reviews looked excellent. A nice welcome. Very nice beer, wine, brandy and coffee. The meal was delicious! Extensive menu. Nearly missed the Specials Board. We... More

Arrived on spec to a lovely smile and how might we help from all three staff; nothing too difficult; Moules; Omelette and Ciabatta. Good quality, simple approach, locals and others and attentive service.

We popped in for a spot of lunch on Sunday - mains plus desserts. The beef was perfect for two and the salmon also for one. The sides of vegetables were excellent. Deserts were delicious - Eton mess and chocolate ice cream with honeycombe. The service was spot on - friendly, efficient and professional. Drinks were just the ticket. Will... More

This is a village pub that needs a bit of TLC. We had booked a table on a Sat night to be told the restaurant was extremely busy which it actually wasn't only about 15 other people there! The bar staff were flustered & seemed unable to cope. We ordered pre dinner drinks which eventually arrived. Not offered a menu... More

Nice welcoming pub frequented by many locals with a good atmosphere. Our quick lunch was excellent - drinks plus cheese omelettes and coffee after.

The hollist arms is a beautiful old pub set in the heart of the village of Lodsworth. It is full of elegant charm and character with an eclectic mix of antique furniture and artefacts which enhance it's uniqueness. The Hollist has built a reputation for superb home cooked gastronomical delights by Serge and Sally, the chefs and owners, who have created a menu that excites and comforts. Serge's Mediterranean background, combined with his classic French training and years of gastronomical experience in France and England show in the quality of the food served. His philosophy is simple however. He prides himself on producing unpretentious food, generously portioned, sensibly priced and full of flavours. The Hollist has been nominated as one of the 25 best pubs in Sussex, with a special mention for outstanding roasts on Sundays (Sussex Life July 2013).The hollist also boasts an enviable wine list with wines sourced exclusively from small, independent vineyards; plus three fantastic, well kept real ales, one of which is a regularly changing guest ale. We look forward to meeting you.
