I enjoyed every aspect from the friendly and knowledgable staff to the beautifully cooked food. My partner and I shared kingfish sashimi for entree which was stunning and tasted even better. We also had the eye fillet and gnocchi for mains, both dishes were exceptional and well designed. Can't wait to go back!

Our group of 12 celebrating a friend's milestone birthday, chose Ashcrofts on recommendation and reputation. The recently condensed menu was a wise move and offers a smart, sophisticated selection, without being overwhelming. The wine selection is eclectic and impressive. We discovered at the end of the evening that the kitchen was short staffed due to a family matter, but the... More

Had a wonderful meal at Ashcroft's to celebrate my birthday recently. I ordered the herbed gnocchi it was full of amazing flavour. Had a side of beans with hazelnuts .. beans were really fresh, just slightly crunchy. Flavour combination was great. Waiter explained the gnocchi is handmade on the premises. I had the dark chocoate mousse for dessert ... it... More

My wife and I stumbled across this restaurant by accident whilst on our 15th anniversary and we were so happy that we did. The restaurant setting is really elegant and inviting without being to pretentious. Beautifully lit restaurant with an amazing front window display lit up with tea lights that give a sense of floating in mid air is just... More

What a find! Everything comes tog there in this delightful small Blue Mountains restaurant. The room is full of character, the waitstaff are attentive, informative about the food and great characters, and the food is sublime. The small menu features some unusual combinations of flavours and textures that really work. We enjoyed kingfish sashimi with avocado and aioli and a... More

Firstly, what I mean by 2-year wait is that I finally got around to booking Ashcroft's in advance. I'm one of those terrible people that won't book in advance. Anyway, I absolutely loved Ashcroft's after failing to book with them every time I've come up to the Mountains. The menu has a large variety to choose from including all meats... More

Confused about all the 5 star reviews as our experience was mediocre. This is a definite bistro experience, and not to be confused with the fine dining Ashcrofts of old, before it changed hands (which we were aware of, but others may not be). The acoustics are poor so the noise level was high, and on a chilly mountains night... More

My husband and I ordered the lamb rump for 2, divine! The custard filled donuts are also a winner to be shared.

In 2014 Ashcrofts changed ownership and we decided in October 2016 to celebrate friends birthdays and see how the dining experience was. We expected to pay more for the experience and to have better service and food. We were six diners. It was a mixed experience of service and food, so starting with the food the cauliflower veloute' was indeed... More
