A family owned restaurant that's been in Lancaster for many years! Great food, service, cleanliness of restaurant! The prices are decent, staff helpful with dietary restrictions, cafe is local folks, visitors and has a unique country decor!

This interior of this inexpensive restaurant is straight out of the 1950s, but the memu and food were bland. The service was good. The pork special (lightly breaded and grilled) was dry, the sweet potatoes had too much sugar added, the broccolli & cauliflower salad was skimpy and drowned by a white sauce, the tea was good. The chicken special... More

Good breakfast served quick and hot. Recommend the skillets. Wife had an Omelette and home fries which she also enjoyed.

My husband loved the atmosphere and the food. He said it was his favorite meal during our entire trip. We found it on google maps where it has very good reviews. We went for breakfast. I had the western omelet. My husband had eggs over easy (cooked perfectly) home fries, crispy bacon and sausage gravy and biscuits. Everything was delicious... More

"Greasy Spoon" does not have a negative connotation even for a vegetarian who watches what he eats when the people running the place are pleasant and the prices are reasonable. Sure, most of the fried food, red meat and sodium-laden stuff is not what a Vegan wants but this is Ohio, what do you expect? Everyone has a least one... More

This restaurant has been around for a long time, so I decided to try it. Very average food, and not worth the money. However I did see a lot of pie and it did look good. It is not on my list to return to.

While visiting the area, we saw the sign that said Homestyle cooking. We tend to prefer these type of restaurants rather than chains so we decided to eat here. The food was not bad but not what we were expecting for homestyle cooking. Service was good and price was great. If I had known what it was like, I would... More

First time visit. Was very good, Had the homemade beef stroganoff. Was delicious with the homemade mac and cheese and peas for only $9.99. We will be a frequent visitor. Also is handicap accessible so we can bring my mother- in- law.

My friend and I were heading back from WV to Illinois hauling a tractor. Stopped in Lancaster to see my brother and met him at Roots. Nice place, good food, prompt service. But despite the bypass around Lancaster, Memorial Drive is still busy and a pain to get around on, with a pickup and trailer. But Roots still a good... More

Don't waste your time... keep on driving... Filling but bad food. Sweet tea was good though! Prices also don't reflect quality.
