Some of the best bar-b-que we have had. A unique sauce, wonderful smoked meats, and delicious sides. We had the potato salad and baked beans. It's off on a side road, an easy jaunt from motels off the interstate though. They had good specials, all u can eat ribs when we were there and an end sandwich. Two of us... More

My wife had the "kid's sandwich", which was well over a quarter pound of well cooked, well seasoned pulled pork. It was only $4.00 and came with a small bag of Lay's chips. Excellent value. I had the tips-one meat meal. The meat was tasty, but not a good enough sized portion for the price paid. The three sauces were... More

During a 3 day visit to Lawton, OK, my family chose to eat here TWICE; once just wasn't enough to get our fill of the best ribs and potato salad we've ever had! We found this gem based on a recommendation from the staff at the hotel we stayed at and they did not steer us wrong. The waitress was... More

Awesome little barbecue place in Lawton. Great barbecue and awesome service, great for a lunch drop-in. Same old decor, could use an update. Definitely recommend the beef brisket!

John & Cooks has been a staple in Lawton for many generations. Their ribs are always fall-off-the-bone tender, and the brisket never needs a knife and the rub is always seasoned just right. It's a traditional type bbq restaurant, so you won't find any of the latest fad foods like a mountain of curly fries and such. The sides are... More

Truly the best BBQ,sides, pie, cake, the whole traditional BBQ joint experience. Not a chain. Owners always there ensuring quality, consistent food and service. Carry out or squeeze in. Nevermind it being located on a little side street by a trucking yard, if you are new to town, trust your GPS and just go. Pay attention to the parking lot... More

Beef brisket lean and on the well done side not easily found in Virginia so whenever my wife/I visit her family, we always go at least once. Texas BBQ better but for proximity, this is our next choice. Always prepared to our taste and reasonably priced.
