Stopped here for lunch on my way south. Pretty tricky to get to. In fact, confusing! But, the hassles were work it. Although there was a bit of a wait for a table (and to pay when leaving), the service was "truckstop friendly"... and speedy! The steak was done exactly right and the hash browns were first-rate, as I've found... More

This place has an interesting variety of food that has changed much over the years. Example they used to have a cook who really got into the salad bar and chopped up veggies (i.e. cucumber, celery, etc.) to perfection now not so much. They have a carving station that you have to track down staff to get service at. I'm... More

After hearing this is a good restaurant, I decided to find out myself. Well, first off-don't go through the buffet, food was barely warm, choices were OK, but taste was bland, and egg order must be up to the cook, because they sure weren't cooked the way we ordered, all in all it was a bust. At least this is... More

The food is less than average. We had the buffet and even the kids (ages 5 & 9) wouldn't eat the food. There was a carving station and no one was there to do the carving during our entire meal. NEVER AGAIN!!!

I had the buffet. Selection was not large and common with chicken and roast beef. Dry beef. Potatoes and gravy and vegetable selection easily recognized. However!, the salad bar was excellent with a good variety that appeared and tasted fresh. Recommend over the meat and I am not a vegetarian by a long shot. I would eat here again when... More

We arrived at 5 pm for the evening meal after all the items had supposedly been changed from the lunch items. This was possibly the worst evening meal we have ever eaten! The salad bar was fairly decent and we should have made a meal of just it but decided to do the full buffet. Bad idea. Most of the... More

The Iron Skillet opened up as a true truck stop in the nineteen seventies, jukeboxes at each seat, the juke boxes are gone and the clientele is a mixture of truckers, travelers and locals. The menu offers satisfying food (sorry no quiche,) the wait people give the friendly and efficient service you"d expect.

In the area for a few days so went twice. Selection is huge. Quesadillas were the best I have ever had. Partner had stir fry. Just as good. Amazing flavor and huge portions. Salad bar was fresh and plentiful. A real gem for quick meal. Would have been 5 star except for bare bones decor. Waitresses are top notch. Great... More

Liked and disliked: disliked nothing, liked almost everything. May not be quite the amount of choices of some buffet's but what was there was of a better quality than some.
