We have been here a few times and really enjoy the service and the food. they never disappoint. French toast is great but out favorite is the bacon, mushroom, and crab omelette. Not supper expense but very nice atmosphere. Coming ow down can be tough but there is a parking garage right down the street,

The bar area at Urban Farmer is fun. I ordered a flatiron steak and a bloody mary. The steak was absolutely delicious! It was a nice sized steak that was cooked perfectly. The steak was very tender and very flavorful. The bloody mary was really good too!

Outstanding service. Lovely open atmosphere. Great decor and truly impressive service. We had a lovely lunch with the shrimp and grits being the highlight. The cheese plate was also incredibly impressive. My husband said the chicken sandwich was close to one of the best he has ever had. My prickly Pear Mamosa it was also quite the delight. We ended... We took the train to Portland for the weekend and stopped at the Urban Farmer for breakfast Sunday morning. We ordered eggs Benedict. The english muffins were fresh baked at the Urban Farmer and were large, fluffy and quite yummy. They also had a bloody mary bar where you choose your own garnish. A bit pricey but sometimes you just... More

Overall we really enjoyed our experience here, but there were a couple of missteps. Oysters were nice but on the small side, grilled octopus was about the best thing we ate, the cheese plate was fantastic - they bring a big cart to the table and you choose what you want. The steaks are the centerpiece so I was disappointed... More

From appetizers, entrees and sides, to dessert, we had the most spectacular meal. Even making the reservation and hanging out at the rooftop bar prior to dinner was amazing. Everything we ordered at our table (two couples) was a favorite. We shared everything. Great place for food you understand, but prepared WAY better than you'll ever dream of being able... More

Urban Farmer is right up there on the top of the scale of innovative breakfasts. Served til 11 am, though they are really flexible about making Perfect poached eggs later, breakfasts are reasonably priced, over the top delicious, and somewhat unique. Especially the Benedicts! AND the atrium setting within The Nines is so uplifting and relaxing. 8th floor!

I wasn't impressed with the atmosphere of the restaurant, located w/in a hotel, with the hotel rooms looking down on the restaurant. We ordered the shrimp and grits - which were fantastic and the tails and trotters benny, which was average.

Went here after a fun night of partying in PDX and was pleasantly surprised. The service and food was really good. My wife & I each ordered the 2 eggs breakfast which comes with super good hash browns, homemade biscuits, thinly shaved ham & 2 eggs cooked any style. The food was very good & we will definitely come back... More

Description
Urban Farmer redefines the modern steakhouse with an emphasis on Northwest, sustainable ingredients and simple, straightforward preparations within a farmer chic environment. The menu honors national and local culinary traditions sourcing ingredients from some of the Northwest’s finest eco-friendly producers like Sudan Farms, Wooden Bridge, Nicky Farms, and Cattail Creek. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, weekend brunch and happy hour, Urban Farmer remains a reliable and approachable destination amidst Portland’s bustling food scene.Designer David Ashen of D-ASH Design in New York created a unique restaurant space within the 8th floor atrium lobby of the Nines Hotel. The space makes use of organic, reclaimed and modern materials such as a 20-foot communal table sourced from an old-growth Douglas Fir. The spacious “Deck” captures the light-hearted feel of outdoor dining and is accented by a field of wheat grass in the center of the room. A video installation by one of Portland’s favorite experimental artists, Matt McCormick, rolls stunning images of the city’s rural and urban landscapes. The “Pantry” offers an intimate setting with walls of steel and reclaimed timber, as well as shelves stacked with vibrant jars of pickled fruits and vegetables. The Library , adjacent to Urban Farmer in the lobby, is the ideal venue for guests to host private parties, play a game of pool or enjoy a quiet cocktail.
