Of all the different options on NW 23rd to have a meal or snack, Salt and Straw is by far the best place for ice cream!! Seriously, go to visit the famous NW 23rd ave for all the shops and restaurants but stop in to S&S for ice cream. Certainly one of the best treats in the city.

Delicious ice cream, creative flavors! They even have (tasty) non dairy options for lactose intolerant.

Who says ice cream must be only boring flavors. We tried the strawberry pepper, The fruitcake , lavender and honey and almond brittle with sea-salt caramel. The line can be a bit tedious, but its worth the wait!

This is the way ice cream should taste. Perfect on a warm day ... or a cold day ... or any day, really.

Went for dessert after an awesome Thai dinner nearby. As visitors from Virginia, we were warned of a wait, however this chilly Tuesday night, our wait was less than 15 minutes. The ice cream flavors are innovative, and even while busy, servers encourage tastes. My brothers' favorite, smoked cherry and bone marrow was not available this night, but our party... More

Very unique flavors. They will let you try as many as you would like. Tried the Thanksgiving flavors, and they were all amazing! Mashed potatoes and gravy was my favorite! Perfect with the salted caramel turkey!!!

Our family loves ice cream. We were visiting our daughter at college and she wanted to try Salt and Straw. Since it was on her to do list, we didn't worry about the cost, and when we saw the strange flavors, we figured oh well, this was her Birthday celebration weekend and we'd give it a try. My daughter picked... More
