Several natives to Portland had suggested other seafood restaurants but after wandering around, we stumbled upon Dan and Louis Oyster Bar. It's coziness and seafaring theme made it an easy pick. It was an excellent place to unwind after a day of walking and exploring. The service was great and food was excellent. In fact, we ate there twice over... More

Large friendly place to eat. Good selection of oysters. Convenient location near down town. Prices were reasonable.

we had dinner at Don & Louis Oyster Bar where Holly the bartender not only mixes great drinks but makes all the customers feel like they are old friends. Their smoked Salmon Fry was delicious, I am not usually a fried food fan but this was by far the exception, this was not the typical fried fish where there is... More

My husband found this oyster bar behind Voodoo Donut. We went there for post marathon lunch and toast. Family run old bar with cozy corners. Do not expect high end oyster bar but they had good oyster plate and Po Boy Sandwich was great even for me who usually not eat fried oysters.

The oysters were to die for. They were fresh and Dan & Louis had a good varietal selection. We had a manhattan that was among the best we have ever had. Cioppino was second only to Scoma's in San Francisco. The fish and chips were light, very tasteful and the best we have had since London.

A very unique little restaurant/bar. Established in 1901 and still run by the original Wachsmuth family. I sat in the bar this trip and enjoyed service by Michelle, wife of the owner. She filled me in on a little history of the establishment as well as providing excellent service. I happened in on a Monday when it was half price... More

Never pass up a great Oyster Bar! Dan & Louis is a great one. We had the dozen Sampler platter and almost ordered another but opted for the crab stew (100 year old family recipe used) and fabulous clam chowder instead. Great service and friendly atmosphere will keep us coming back!

If you have to be in the area, and you like oysters, this is a great place to go. The staff is very nice, it's very casual, the food is really good. For $5 indulge in an Oregon Monster oyster which is an 11 year old from Netarts Bay. We had one raw and one cooked, both were excellent. The... More

A friend recommended the place and it sounded like a hit. The first time I tried was July 4th. Full house all around, streets full of people. Place was closed. I was back in town a few weeks later and tried it with a friend. We sat outside to enjoy the nice weather. We got to enjoy the weather a... More
