Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Never review a place upon only visiting it once. Everyone has a bad night and I never judge a place unless I visit more than twice. Bono’s is a wonderful little place in Bangor. It’s family owned and the staff is always very nice courteous....On a worst night I had to wait maybe extra 5 minutes. German pie is my favorite, the cheesesteaks are delicious and I love their generous serving of home made fries. This is a good one to visit!More

I stop at Bonos 191 for take away pizza at least once a month. The owner is friendly and his food is good. I have had several of his hot sandwiches in the past and the meatball parm is my favorite. Prices are reasonable. You...won't be disappointed.More

Bono's pizza is always well layered, never skimpy on cheese or sauce. Cheese is good quality - NOT the kind that's like chewing gum.

Being new to stromboni, I didn't know what I might get. Very pleasant surprise. I was also surprised that the service was pretty authentic being Italian. Definitely would return. Reasonable prices too

We were working on a job nearby and called for takeout. Got pizza and some bottles of soda. Gave us plates cups and napkins.

My husband and I tried this place one day because we didn't have the energy to make supper. Boy are we glad we did. The pizza is great. We have been tempted to try some of the other things they have on the menu, but...the pizza is so good, we just keep going back to it. I look forward to continuing to get pizza from them.More

It's been over a year since I ate there, at that time their pizza tasted horrible. I really don't see the need to go back and waste my money to see if it improved.

This is by-far the best pizza Bangor has to offer. We have never had a bad one and we go often. There is rarely a wait for service and they are always pleasant.

Bonos is the only place that serves pizza crispy, not soggy like everyone else. The pizza is so good its addicting. I get pizza to go about every week. Their buffalo chicken pizza is my fav. I recommend them to everyone. The inside of the...place needs to be updated but otherwise, food is great.More

Bono pizza is our family's favorite local pizzeria. Everything is made to order, and nothing tastes like it was just sitting around unattended. There have been changes in the quality of food we have eaten, but 9 times out of 10, it was delicious. The...staff is very likeable, and, although the atmosphere is a bit lacking, the food is what makes us keep coming back.More

I'm not quite sure I understand some of the reviews I've seen online stating this place has the "best pizza". The pizza dough is thick and chewy and the amount of sauce and cheese they kid-cooks slather onto it ranges greatly depending on who made...the pizza. I've gotten some pizza where there's hardly any sauce on it. I've gotten pizza from here were the cheese was swimming on the sauce. Sometimes there's a sprinkling of cheese and other times it's dropping with a layer of thick, greasy cheese. Shame on me for not learning my lesson the first couple of times. The other food is pretty laughable as well. My fries were soggy and old. Sandwiches I've ordered come on cheap bread that's been left out too long... it's stale. Hot sandwiches I've ordered are usually a greasy mess. Plus, the food isn't all that cheap either. You pay the same amount here that you would at any other inexpensive Italian eatery in the Slate Belt or in the Lehigh Valley, but what you get is garbage.More

Had a few people over New Years day and planned to pick up a few pizzas at our favorite pizzaria (Pen Argyl Pizza),but they were closed, didn't do my research. There was only 2 pizzarias open in the area,Napoli and Bono. Had Napoli once and that was...enough,so we ordered 3 pizzas from Bono,WHAT A MISTAKE!!!!!. The crust was hard and harder to swallow. The cheese was a blend of cheeses, with barely any mozzarella and they were very stingy with the sauce,if that's what you want to call it. Make sure you do your homework on places to eat during the holidays,or keep a loaf of bread ready for PBJs,we would have been better off. There is almost a whole pie left in the fridge,no one would take it with them. My dog eats rocks and I wouldn't even give it to him. I don't know if all the Bono Pizzarias in the area are the same, but stay away from the one in Bangor PA,least for the pizza.More
