Great food and service!! We have gone for 2 different special occasions and have NOT been disappointed.
A friend of mine and I ate here this past Easter Sunday - at about 3PM after the hustle and bustle were gone. Doug, Ashlee, and Sophia were responsible for our dinner and service. We had both ordered the ham platter with homemade potato filling,...yams, green beans, corn, cranberry sauce, and all the usual fixings. The homemade rolls were superb! All the choices were on one platter versus a zillion monkey-dishes. It was delicious and as if Mom/Grandmom made the meal at home. Kudos to the Chef and to the excellent servers. We had wonderful cheesecake and coffee to round out the meal. We both stated that we would definitely return. Again, thank you!More
I surprised my son with a night out for a nice dinner. I ordered the crab cakes for myself and my son ordered the NY strip. He had mixed vegetables and a baked potato. I had a baked potato with butter, sour cream and cheese....And I had a reg salad and we were serviced delicious warm dinner rolls that were very good. The waitress was super friendly and helpful. The food, we thought for what you paid should have been better. I did not really care for the crab cakes. There was a different kind of flavor to them that I could not put my finger on. The baked potatoes were the best part of the meal. My son said his steak was just OK. I thought it was pretty expensive for just OK food.More
Went here for the first time. Food, drinks, service and atmosphere were all wonderful! Definitely going back!!
Food was outstanding .service was excellent and the room was so charming. I had the veal hubby had the steak. Both entrees were delish.
It was our anniversary so we wanted to go somewhere nice, and we hadn't been to Christine's in 10 years so we thought we'd try it again - see if it had improved. (Last time - an evening visit - it was cold and drafty...and the wait staff was slammed and couldn't get our party of 10 served by the time some were finishing dessert) The atmosphere was nice (and this time the room wasn't chilly) and the server was nice, but a bit formal. Every course came promptly. Wine was good. My husband had mussels marinara which was very good, and jambalaya, which was not made with chorizo or other spicy sausage and consequently a bit tame. I had Chicken a la Christine which is made with lots of mushrooms in a mustard cream sauce and was excellent. I would come again without hesitation, but I wasn't excited. Very good over all.More
We have been eating here for 15 years and have had good and bad meals this time was a DISGRACE !!!!!. It started when we received our drinks a martini in a small glass and half full. A small glass of wine 35 % full....Then the meals came my wife had fish and it was well well done and dry. I had the prime rib and asked for it medium rare they brought me an end well done and half fat our baked potatoes were hard and dry. I had the waitress come over and she said they would replace it we waited long for the first one i said i did not want it. My wife tried to eat her fish but it was tasteless so she just picked. We had a coupon for $ 30 worth of food for $15. When it came time for the bill I agreed to talk to the chef instead a a very nasty lady came over and said she would not honor the coupon and take the prime rib off the bill. I TOLD HER CALL THE POLICE BECAUSE I HAVE TO USE THE COUPON BY APRIL 1 AND WILL NEVER BE BACK SO I WILL PAY FOR THE REST( NOT THE PRIME RIB) WITH THE COUPON. SHE THEN DID AS I REQUESTED. We waited 10 minutes for the revised bill then went to the counter where she was she tried twice to put our charge card through and it did not go very nastily she snapped and said just go ill eat the bill. She had to be the owner and was very very nasty. SHAME ON THEM.More
Govenor Wolf made it so you cannot eat inside the restaurants and I had made reservations here so I called them and a woman answered and she told me we could do take out that we could not use the coupon we had that expires...at the end of December on takeout. Can you believe that? It is not our fault we have to do take out and they will not honor it. Unbelieveable. I will go to Emily's then and give them my money.I will never go in that smelly place again.More
Terrible only because they weren't wearing masks. I like it there. But tonight it made me have anxiety because they weren't wearing masks. So I was freaked out. I don't understand why they were not wearing masks. You need to wear them to protect people....You might not care but I do.More
It took so long to get our bake potatoes. I told the waitress I thought my husband was gonna have it for dessert because he had ate his chicken parmesan and I was almost done with my steak and we finally got our potatoes. Now...how do you run a restaurant like that. She said her excuse was they took to long to get done. I feel there should be no excuse for that.We had ate our soup and salad and you only get one little roll each.and our main course and still no potatoes. That sucked. My husband tips but with service like that I would of taken that into consideration when I tip.Meal was good just I want my potatoes with my meal not for dessert.and they are very pricey for what you get to eat. Our salad was just torn up lettuce and a few pieces of carrots and a rotten piece of tomatoe one lousy slice of cucumber. No cheese.More
Educated medical professional that uses Groupon for fun and try different places. Was told they were out of entre as it was served to other patrons. Good food but not sure if it was spit on.
My boyfriend took me here for my birthday, when we pulled up at the restaurant on a weekend evening there were only three cars in the parking lot. I took that as a bad sign and tried to change his mind. No, we went in....The view is beautiful sitting at the window. The food is way over priced for a way less than average meal. We were both disappointed in our meals and do not plan on going back. We found it odd that they "ran out" of items on the menu when there were only three tables in use in the restaurant the entire time we were there.More
My fiancé and I decided to give this place a try since we didn’t have anything to make at home at the time. We had a Groupon for it and never heard of the place, so we figured why not, let’s give it a try....I should have trusted my instincts to turn around and leave when I saw the parking lot was completely empty for a Friday night at 7pm (other than a few staff vehicles parked in the back). We made the mistake and entered the establishment anyway and noticed the place was COMPLETELY empty inside, not a single person sitting at the bar area or dining room area, a HUGE warning sign! The only decent thing about the place was the view of the creek, but without any lights in the back you can hardly see anything. The menu was pretty much all chicken and veal dishes with a few fish / shrimp entrees, but everything was ridiculously expensive! It was even written out in words (ex: twenty three dollars and 99 cents) which was very awkward, but they were probably hoping you would overlook it and not notice how crazy expensive everything is. My fiancé ordered shrimp wrapped in bacon with a side salad and I got shrimp scampi. The bacon was very gross and undercooked, was mostly all white fat and the shrimp didn’t look fresh. The salad was basically just some finely chopped greens with a minuscule amount of carrot, tomato, and cucumber. They waitress came back shortly after and asked if she wanted an entrée and she said no thank you. My shrimp scampi entrée came out a few minutes later and it was in a small bowl with just 7 small shrimp (which were definitely frozen shrimp from a bag) some generic pasta in a bowl of greenish snot with probably 15 cloves of garlic. It was pretty gross, but I was starving so I ate it anyway, huge mistake... We knew that dessert wouldn’t be redeeming so we skipped it and asked for the check. They denied our Groupon and said we couldn’t use it since my fiancé didn’t buy a 2nd entrée. It says nothing about that on the Groupon details so we were annoyed and paid a whopping $47 for just shrimp scampi, 2 salads, the bacon wrapped shrimp, and 2 glasses of water!?! Came home and was threw up everything into the toilet…My fiancé contacted Groupon and they thankfully refunded her the money since I got sick from their disgusting trash. I cook daily at home and I can definitely say this food is NOT fresh. That shrimp could have been sitting in a freezer bag for up to a year as far as I know. They wouldn’t be able to afford buying fresh food with the place being extinct of life on a regular basis. A lot of the negative reviews about how the place is empty and disgusting their food is goes back through 2010 which is shocking! Almost 9 years later, how is this place still open??? The owner / chef must be losing tons of on this place, they should cut their losses and close the doors. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy and wouldn’t feed it to a dog! If the chef seriously thinks their food is good and fresh, he must be a chain smoker on work release from prison. Then again…I use to work at a prison and helped with their meal prep and I can say even the food fed to the inmates was more edible. Even a $5 pizza from Little Ceasar’s sounds like a masterpiece of a meal compared to anything this place Christine’s Creekside Inn puts out. For now on I’ll carefully scope out restaurant groupons to make sure to avoid trash establishments like this.More
We were here for the first time this week! Friends recommended it and we were not disappointed! The food and service was very good! We will return!
We had guests come into town for the day and we opted to go out to dinner that evening. Upon arrival and entering there was a slight musty smell on the stairs leading to the bar area. The dining room has beautiful windows overlooking the...woods and the creek so the atmosphere is decent enough. I was unable to tell if there was also a slight musty smell in the dining room. I had asked my husband and he said he could only smell the meals being prepared. One of my guests and I decided to share the crab dip as an appetizer. I can tell you the crab dip was not a cheesy creamy crab dip with shredded crab meat as I am used to. first the crab was clearly imitation Krab meat, which was not specified on the menu in any manner. Had this been specified I would not have ordered the crab dip. Also, The dip was also not cheesy nor creamy and the Crab meat was chunks of meat and not shredded. So needless to say the tow of us each had two or three bites and pushed this aside. The waitress never even asked why we did not eat any of the dip. The only positive - The salad greens were very fresh and the blue cheese dressing was one of the tastiest I have had in a restaurant as an FYI the salad had no cheese and no croutons. They did offer fresh ground pepper and most of us did accept the fresh ground pepper for our salad. We were a party of six and arrived fairly early for dinner: they have an all you can eat pasta offering and one of our guests ordered the spaghetti with meatballs - sadly she was informed they were out of meatballs. which they offered her chicken, he did not want chicken Alfredo. So she opted for no meat. My husband ordered a side of the spaghetti with sauce and the was very sugary and the pasta bland. For Dinner my husband ordered the veal parmesan, which is ususally served over pasta. However, this was just the veal on the plate with sauce and no pasta. I ordered the Chicken Piccata. I expected a soft subtle lemony flavored Chicken Piccata and this was definitely not the case. This tasted so tangy and strong of lemon in a severe way. I took five bites and literally pushed the plate aside, My husband said his was terrible but he did eat most of what was on his plate. One of our other guests also ordered the Chicken Piccata and she too thought the lemon was overwhelming. The other 2 guests thought there meals were just barely average. Now on to the sides, quite a few of us ordered the home fries, thinking these would be fresh cut french fries of some sort. Again this was not the case these were like deep fried potato chunks all four of them. So we needless to say we were all a bit disgusted about the quality and lack of quantity that was presented and placed before us. The waitress inquired if I wanted my Chicken Piccata boxed to go and I quietly said to her no and told her that the lemon flavor was overwhelming and so string the my meal was inedible. She returned to the table a few minutes later and offered me dessert. So I decided to go with a slice of carrot cake to go for possible later consumption. I did in fact eat the carrot cake the next day and was pleased that the carrot cake was decent and much more edible than my meal. I will say they did split the checks at the beginning and that was a nice touch, not every restaurant will do that for parties of six. So we will not be returning and this made me sad for this area and this restaurant.More
